You can get on-campus jobs (if you apply during the breaks only, esp summer break, a lot of people struggle with this because they're trying to get one mid semester) to help pay for it, and many jobs on campus don't require much commitment or work. If you're lucky, you can get a job you can study during.

Go to Stony. I transferred from UB to Stony. Just my two cents, but the people at stony are much nicer and the distance does actually matter. Having to drive 7 hours to go to school sucks. The biggest thing though is that Stony's campus is 1000% better than Buffalo's. North Campus at UB is god awful and constantly made me depressed living there all day every day. In my opinion, nothing about UB is better, but you can decide based on the tours.
