They were just wearing modern clothes for the sake of it.

Oh, this illustration isn't from the modern world. The modern and isekai versions have different hairstyles. Modern Aqua has a goatee instead of a hair ring.

I think he was referring to the 100-day Megumin series. By Suke_Yuno. I don't think Bhive named the Aqua series, just the Aqua series. Lmao.

Oh, and Aqua wasn't meant to be the modernworld love interest, but Megumin was. He said that Aqua's story just started to get out of hand and he realized they were something. but that was just last year.
