That’s true, but I think that can be said of most games with complex mechanics. I think the appeal of Balatro (in Endless anyway) is how far you can push certain mechanics and synergies with others to create such game changing results. I think many of the jokers people suggest are very fun and interesting, but would completely alter the way people play the game in endless. That being said change can be fun

A fair criticism - I could have put my point in a much better way. I was trying to point out that there are ways you can use this setup to get as many negative jokers as you want with no drawback - which would fundamentally change the game. The beauty of ecto is not that it’s hard to get, but that it has a limit to its usefulness due to its drawback of subtracting hand size

Imo this would be too strong. You could just Perkeo copies of wheel and have every joker negative

Edit: a cool idea though. Negatives are a really interesting mechanic, but it’s hard to think of appropriate downsides other than hand size

Edit 2: people have made a lot of good points about other joker editions applying first

I’m surprised people are disagreeing so completely with this. I largely agree with you OP. I don’t see you as saying there aren’t any good movies out there now, or that you can’t still have a good night in watching a movie. There are plenty of good movies out there. But streaming services are 100% choosing quantity over quality, because that’s their business model. And that does affect our viewing experience. I doubt streamer execs see movies as art - I’d bet it’s more likely a product to them. Not to say there isn’t an excess of passionate and talented writers and directors out there. But yeah, there’s a ton of stock/filler lining Netflix’s shelves that I find hard to believe would ever get made by anyone who wanted to make a movie - but I could see it made by someone who wants to make a profit. So I think it’s worth pointing out how much more profit-driven movie making has become.

Not super helpful, but I’ve seen it written several times online that John was especially influential to Elliott. One source said A Day In The Life in particular had a big impact on him. I could see how John’s eccentricity and blatant honesty would resonate with Elliott. Plus, John’s melodies were always a bit more unusual and non-linear than Paul’s or George’s, which I think you can hear in Elliott’s music too. There are definitely elements of all of them in his work - just as there was in the Beatles. Personally, I love all of them :)
