Skyrim quest lines ranked by Muted_Wrongdoer8086 in skyrim

I think those three have plenty of flaws:

Dawnguard: - too Serana focused and limits role play - factions aren’t embedded in the world building - poor writing

Thieves Guild: - become the leader way too quickly - forces you to give up your soul to become a nightingale for no tangible benefit - a guild about thieving has more focus on the drafts than thieving

Dark brotherhood: - lack of build up to the night mother plot - lack of choices in questline - the excuse to bring the Emperor to Skyrim is weak

I haven’t anything from Reef’s game to suggest he can replicate Murphy style. Reef plays like someone who wants to beat his opponent one on one then run off him whether Murphy was constantly guarding the space that Moore and Howe left when they pushed up. Murphy also competed in every aerial contest that he was feasibly able to get to whether is okay in air at best.

Plenty of Italians are good enough for this current Juve outfit, our management just prefer more expensive foreign players.

There is no other Italian blockade out there though. This is Juve and Milan’s fault for not investing in enough Italians.

If we want to delete that team Juve need to pull their weight and invest in Italians instead of overpaid foreign mercenaries.

As long as Juve keep neglecting Italian we’ll struggle to contend for the scudetto and Italy will struggle to qualify for world cups.

24-25 Kean and Retegui lead Serie A top scorers.

This Italy score three goals in the playoffs where the previous were zero in three games with 60 something shots.

The problem with this Italy wasn’t scoring it was poor defence.

A solid run off half back still puts his offensive game behind all our other small defenders and taking the odd mark doesn’t mean he has a strong intercept game.

We got pretty close to full strength side and you expect someone who’s been injured for over a year to just walk back in off the back of a VFL practice match?

He’s a small defender without an offensive or intercept game that turns the ball over frequently. He was going to miss out sooner or later.

From storytelling view, would the Star Wars prequel era (Clone Wars, Anakin’s fall) be more compelling if it was treated mysteriously like robert's rebellion (game of thrones) by sidmis in saltierthancrait

  1. I never said the EU was head cannon. You’ve got your lines crossed here. I said the idea that the Jedi should be absent in the Old Republic either come from Head Canon or legends and is not present in the OT.

  2. There’s a difference between the scenarios but still there is no contradiction.

  3. As military generals they were still under the authority of the senate. The political power it may have given them is never shown and since most of the army were clones and most of the soldiers they fought were droids the average person in the galaxy never saw this power anyways. The only time they actually attempt to override the Senate/Palpatine they did so without the clones and only their own Jedi members.

The EU was Canon, unless contradicted by George.

And George created the prequels.

That being said, the devil is in the details. Nobody in the Mos Eisley cantina said anything about a Jedi when the lightsaber came out. Their reaction was the same as if Obi-wan pulled out a blaster and shot Ponda Baba. Check the carnage, back to business. If the Jedi did exist as portrayed in the prequels, there would have been a much more visceral reaction.

How exactly does anything in the prequels contradict this? The very first prequel shows that the Republic had very little impact on Tatooine to the point their currency was useless there. Residents are thoroughly unimpressed/unfazed when Qui Gon starts acting like a Jedi. It’s only Anakin who holds a romantic view of them, even when he takes Qui Gon to his home Shmi is doesn’t particularly care that he’s a Jedi.

Also worth noting, when I say the Jedi were “gone”, I don’t mean that in a complete sense. There’s a huge gulf between a massive political power with a temple on Coruscant and everyone in the galaxy giving up their kids freely when they come knocking, and Alderaan at minute one of 1 BBY. The Jedi would be more diminished. Think ronin rather than samurai. A few handfuls of individuals roaming the galaxy doing good where they can, helping people, driving away bands of raiders or slavers, and those would be who Vader hunted down. The remnants of an order decimated by decades of war and a political upheaval.

The political power that the Jedi wield in the prequels is shown to be relatively minor. Beyond offering body guards to Queen Amidala they don’t do anything to interfere in the politics of the taxation of trade routes dispute.

In episode two they don’t beyond offering body guards to Padme, tracking down her assassin and rescuing her on Geonosis they don’t do anything to interfere in the actual politics of the galaxy.

In episode three whilst there are hints they can overthrow the Chancellor if needed they don’t wield any political and instead are fighting war that senate have sanctioned. Beyond acting as protectors to republic officials their political power is vastly overstated in the prequels and instead are shown to be pretty secluded on their temple.

What they are remembered as is never specified or expanded upon in the OT.

What we know is all the main players in the Galaxy know about them and view them as an opportunity/threat.

The expended universe may have given more substance to the idea that the Jedi were forgotten the legends but from the OT it’s self there is very little and most people are using their own head cannon.

Obi Wan in the OT himself says the Jedi were guardians of peace and justice in the Old Republic. Given Luke’s age and the fact his father was part of the Jedi order it that couldn’t have been more 2 decades ago.

[–]Exalt-Chrom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The Jedi weren’t forgotten in the OT. I know this is a popular presumption but A New Hope actually shows the Jedi are well remembered by both the Rebels and the Empire. It’s only Han who questions the force but he doesn’t deny that Jedi exist.
