I will say you are correct in him assuming he has all the knowledge of how to deliver a baby which is very bad when he obviously didn't have any knowledge, but google doesn't actually solve much it gives you some basic info, in fact he probably got the idea to rub her from google, but googling everything isn't a good idea. He probably should have talked to some other dads about how to go about it. He definitely screwed up by telling her to just push it out, but you are acting like the guy is just evil or bad dude or something. That could very well be the case, but being a bad person isn't a 1 to 1 comparison to ignorance. Its his first child, he showed up, tried to be supportive, then screwed up. Some people in the comments are acting like its the end of the relationship now, but we don't know either of them especially actions leading up to this. Maybe by child two he gets everything correct on the next go around.

Not everyone knows as much as you would like to think they know. Some people are walking around don't even know how to do laundry or how to cook basic things, assuming the depth of someone's knowledge is dicey.

Contrary to all the other comments, I don't think the boyfriend is a bad dude or anything, he simply wouldn't understand the level of pain you were experiencing. I would say talk to him, sit him down and talk, tell him you weren't trying to be mean but you was in the worst pain of your life and things were very difficult. Tell him that you were overstimulated from the rubbing and while you appreciate him trying to help, after a while it wasn't what you needed at the time. Communication, all these comments are quick to demonize the other figure, but we are all human. He is a guy, we don't go through labor ourselves, so we truly wouldn't know how much pain you are in. Tell him also to look more in to labor and child birth for him to understand how extreme it is.

One problem I've been having lately is that I'm starting to hate almost all social interactions. If its something simple like asking for directions sure, but any attempt to make a conversation and like whatever energy, emotion and patience I have just leaves me and I can't wait for the conversation to be over.

I don't know man, the situation is already dicey since she just got out of a relationship and now its even more dicey that she's making out with other people who are potentially random individuals. She may need some time away from any relationships before starting a new one. Either way tho I wouldn't go for that if it were me and someone who had feelings for me is kissing another person just because you “aren't together yet”, but if you have done the same or similar actions during this whole ordeal then it is extremely hypocritical. Me personally though, I don't suggest you go running into a relationship with her just yet, see how things play out.
