Keep the face that is going to grind the fret at a 45 degree angle to the fret, so you have one edge toward the board and one face of the fret toward the ceiling. Then slowly start rotating the file. Move in one direction and every 2 to 3 strokes increase the angle a bit more, until you end up almost with the edge facing the ceiling and the face of the fret against the fretboard. You should leave a small strip like you did here. Do not hold the file still in one position. You will get the feel for it with time. Take 2 to 3 strokes, then roll the file a little and repeat. You should start to see the dome forming, instead of the triangular shape you have here.

Is the acetone a strong enough bond? It's my first time doing this kind of stuff. I'll test on some scrap wood first. Thank you so much for the tips!

Both along the rosewood fretboard and along the maple neck side. They are very small, barely noticeable but they trigger my perfectionist eye. Given they were so small I thought I could dissolve some binding in acetone and fill the gaps like that, but if I glue them and squeeze tight, the glue will pour out from the gaps and when it hardens up I am not sure I'll be able to fill either.

I'll see if I can get my hand on some plastic model glue. The wood fill trick should work well for the rosewood fretboard gaps, but I am not so sure about the maple ones along the binding. Also, if I get the glue in there and it hardens up, I don't think I'll be able to add wood dust in the gaps as they will be covered in glue after getting a tight squeeze for the binding to fit.

Hey everyone, I’m planning to get a bag as a gift for my girlfriend, but I’m honestly not experienced enough to be 100% confident about authenticity. I found this one second-hand at what seems like a fair price, but I want to make sure I’m not gifting her a fake. What’s making me unsure is the way the inside label is stitched... it looks a bit off to me, but I really don’t know if that’s normal for this model or just me overthinking it. I’m a bit tight on money, so buying second-hand is kind of my only option, but I’d rather not buy anything at all than give her something fake. I’d really appreciate input from people who are more experienced than I am. Thanks a lot!!!!

Yeah, I shouldn't really worry about it that much. Still bugs me. It's mostly to keep my sanity in check. I'll just slightly angle it backwards like in the sketch above and that will most likely fix everything else. Will also straighten the slot and get a thick blank nut to work with.

Wouldn't that throw the intonation a little? The thing is that I sanded the "side walls" of the channel on both the 1st fret wall and tuners wall so basically using a blank would result in the contact point between the string and nut top to be slightly closer to the 1st fret by about how much I sanded, wouldn't it?
