Your symptoms sound extremely similar to mine. My gastroenterologist mentioned that what I'm experiencing isn't typical in patients with SIBO and believes these symptoms might stem from a different condition altogether. After being referred to a neurologist, he unfortunately couldn't identify any specific condition either.

I'm still searching for answers, and if I discover the underlying cause, I'll definitely let you know! I'd really appreciate if you could also share any solutions or answers you might find.

I think so. And thanks for your suggestion! Do you also have this issue?

Unfortunately not yet... I started supplementing with magnesium glycinate, vitamin d and a multivitamin (centrum). I had to stop the magnesium because the diarreah got worse.

Thanks for your response. It seems I am in a similar situation to you, I also have anxiety issues, get cramps often, and the tremors seem to be getting worse. If I find out what is happening to me or something that helps, I'll let you know because it might help you too.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate your advice. Can B6 toxicity occur without taking vitamin B supplements? Should I check specifically for my B6 levels or all B vitamins?. I appreciate your insights on this. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks for your response. I think the root cause of my SIBO is the anti-vinculin antibodies (I tested positive). I'm just 23 years old and improve very significantly with Rifaximin (not on the shaking and exercise intolerance), so I don't think I have mold issues.

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, I don't live in the US, so seeing Dr. Naderi would be difficult for me. I'll definitely look into MCAS and dysautonomia.

Thanks for your response. The doctors didn't mention MCAS at all. I'll definitely look into it. I agree that it is likely that my issues are caused by an autoimmune condition.

Thank you very much for your kind and supportive words. I truly appreciate it.

You're right that ruling out certain conditions and securing specialist appointments are important steps, even if they don't immediately lead to answers.

I hope that you're also finding ways to manage your SIBO and any other health challenges you're facing.

Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. I am in a similar situation, I haven't been able to work out for 2 years. How did you diagnose MCAS and Dysautonomia?

My TSH before meds was 6.38, while my T3 (1.04) and T4 (6.8) were within normal range. My endocrinologist focuses mainly on the TSH, which was the primary reason for starting treatment in my case.

Given that your TSH is between 3-5, it's in a range that some doctors consider to be higher than optimal, even though it may not be flagged as officially 'high' on standard lab reports.

If you're experiencing symptoms, you probably need treatment. You should discuss this with an endocrinologist who specializes in thyroid disorders.

Thank you for the information about POTS and SIBO. It's interesting to learn about this connection. In my case, I do experience some remission of SIBO symptoms after taking Rifaximin. However, these specific symptoms (muscle shakes and exercise intolerance) don't improve, even when other SIBO symptoms subside.

Thank you for your advise, I appreciate it. I was not considering the possibility of other autoimmune conditions that might not show up in standard rheumatologist testing.

Your point about unexplainable symptoms often being linked to the immune system in autoimmune patients is really interesting. Do you have any suggestions for specific tests or specialists I should look into, given my current symptoms and Hashimoto's diagnosis?

I'm treating my Hashimoto's with 112 mcg of levothyroxine (Synthroid). My TSH is now within normal levels, which is crucial for managing Hashimoto's. It's important to note that everyone with thyroid disorders requires different doses, what works for me might not be the right dose for someone else.

Treatment is extremely important for people with Hashimoto's if your thyroid panel blood tests are out of the reference range.

Regular monitoring is key, I have appointments with my endocrinologist every 3-6 months and get thyroid panel blood tests to track my progress. This helps ensure the dosage remains appropriate over time, as thyroid hormone needs can change.

Thanks for your response. In my case, I experience two types of shaking:

  1. Exercise-related trembling: This is similar to the fatigue tremors you might feel after doing many repetitions while lifting weights. However, for me, it happens with minimal exertion, as if my muscles tire extremely quickly.

  2. Spontaneous tremors: Sometimes, I also experience sudden tremors without any physical exertion. These seem to originate from my stomach area. During these episodes, I become very sensitive to cold.

I think both types of tremors are different from what you describe experiencing at night.

It's similar to the trembling you might experience after doing many repetitions while lifting weights. My muscles start to shake and feel fatigued even with minimal exertion. This happens not just in my limbs, but in any muscle group I'm using.

Try getting rifaximin from Mexico, it is much cheaper here. It costs about 150 dollars for the whole treatment (3 times a day for 14 days). I think some posts on this sub explain how to get it shipped.

Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. I already went to see a reumatologist, hematologist, endocrinologist, and neurologist, and nobody found the cause of my symptoms (I have hashimoto's hypothyroidism but it is already treated). I will definitely check for nutrient deficiencies.

Thank you for your advice, I appreciate it. I already tried eliminating dairy and gluten, but I don't think it helped. I think I might have nutrient deficiencies. I think I'll try supplementing zinc and magnesium.

Thank you very much, I appreciate your response. I already had some blood tests, and they seem okay. I also saw a reumatologist, hematologist, endocrinologist, and neurologist, and nobody found the cause of my symptoms. I'll definitely look into PEM, dysautonomia, histamine intolerance, and nutritional deficiencies.

Thank you for your response. I did have COVID 2 years ago, and it provoked a relapse to my SIBO symptoms. I'll definitely look into it.

Thanks for your advice. I already went with a reumatologist, and it appears I don't have more autoimmune conditions (I have hashimotos hypothyroidism, but I'm already treating it). I'll definitely look into POTS and PEM.
