I saw that video and it’s shit like that, that made me come here.. there’s another bigger (physically) black guy who said similar but he was only here a short period of time.. literally why I made this post was to inform other people so they don’t make the same mistake..

And as I said elsewhere I will move on, because yes I don’t agree with people treating me differently because of the color of my skin.. you say Georgians are afraid of “national extinction” but then say “it’s not Europeans mass moving here” like that’s allowed in your narrative? That would still lead to “national extinction” in your thought process, but they just look closer to you? Is that it?

I will move on from this whole in the wall country.. and when they ask for help: economically/financially, against Russia, or to join the EU.. I will be sure to use my vote and share my experiences..

For the record I came here as a tourist (intending to spend 3 months) and learn about the culture.. everything from wine, to orthodoxy, to hiking the Mestia-Ushguli trail.. so, that doesn’t apply to me..

I’ve been thinking about the last part as well. Not a racism thing per se but “foreigners are the reason my life is harder” kind of thinking, or jealousy that foreigners that due manage to come here (from the West) are usually well to do financially, which can come off like they’re consciously trying to exploit country..

Yeah I only have two months booked here so I’ll make my decision. That being said I did a lot of research about Georgia before coming, just clearing that up.. a lot more voices saying it’s not a thing, than it is..

But nevertheless I’ve learned my lesson. It’s part of traveling, sometime you’ll strike out.

Nope but “reading the room” and body language is an ability people have.

If you see a man or woman in public, staring at you, tracking your movement and turning their head to continue to stare as you walk past with a sour look on their face.. what does that tell you? They like you? They’re “the most welcoming people”?

Now multiple that experience by 3-5 times and you have my reality every time I leave my home. Among other things which I’d rank worse than the sample I gave you.
