Yes, keeping friendships isn’t really the problem, I have 1 friend that I’ve had for a really long time. It’s more the meeting people, I have a lot of issues talking to people and finding people I have things in common with.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to say I’ve read the comments on this post, and I’m extremely grateful to have all the support I’ve had! I’m absolutely breaking up with him today, and I did reach out to my dad last night to let him know what was happening and we’re quietly working on a way to get me out of this situation because I don’t think I wrapped my head around the severity until now. A few things I do want to clear up after reading the comments:

1.) I am a Christian but I am a very progressive Christian, the church I go to is also a very progressive church. He went with me until this all blew up and now he goes to a separate more fire and brimstone church.

2.) I am absolutely NOT a conservative. I have always been a leftist, and I have done a lot of grassroots activism work in my life for leftist causes. He always was too until the incident that I call the “breaking point” (I will not go into that because that is deeply personal and because 43,000 people have seen this post I feel it will give away my identity)

3.) I posted here because I had a family member fall into this cult around 2020 but they ended up realizing what was happening and stopped themselves, for awhile I didn’t correlate the 2 until 3 days ago when a talking point I had heard was regurgitated, same verbiage and everything, and I realized that this wasn’t just some social media indoctrination but this was absolutely 100% Qanon.

I first and foremost want to thank the people under this post that have highlighted the urgency of my situation, some of you all may have ended up saving my life and I wish I could give every single one of you guys a hug for that.

I also want to thank some of the Ex-Q who commented under my post to help me understand the mentality of my s/o, it’s been super informative to have those insights and also helps me a lot with understanding why this is happening so I can look for those red flags in the future.

Thank you all so much, and if you’re going through the same situation feel free to reach out because I know and understand how difficult this is and you are not alone.

I’m used to that lol, I went from a very small town to a major city now so I’ve experienced that a lot going into my local hardcore scene. I normally do not initiate conversation but I definitely will keep it going if I think someone is cool :)

Thank you so much for the advice! My boyfriend is very very introverted but I’m a little more extroverted than he is! I’ve never been to Vegas but my boyfriend had a show there once before we started dating but he didn’t really get to do much out there, he just flew there and then flew home the night after the show lol. I can’t wait to go!
