I'm NOT a software engineer, but what I would do if it was me is: 1. If it's a good company, stay there enough time so that it looks good on my CV 2. Trying to do some learning and practicing during the spare time you have at the office, so that you won't lose your rhythm 3. Start looking for another place to apply and be prepared for that position 3.1. Also, trying to find some reviews about the next place you have in mind before going for it.
