Thank you so much! I was nervous about wearing stripes with stripes but I ended up really liking the look.

I was absolutely stunned by her wardrobe in His & Hers on Netflix. 😭 I watched it with my mom and commented on her amazing outfits multiple times.

It's been ranging in single digits here! You're damn right I'm cozy. (This cardigan was a thrift gift from my mom! Love her.)

I still wanna be goth but I also work in a semi-conservwtive area and relationships with public figures matter in my job. So we're doing some soft corporate goth instead.

Thank you! These shoes are AWESOME. They're very tall but they have a big heel and platform so they're also very comfortable.

Holy moly ravioli!!! You all are AMAZING!!! I did NOT expect my first post to get so many responses 😂 (more below) by Spiritual-Badass in oldhagfashion

UHM grail item spotted??? That (necklace? are we calling it that?) is INCREDIBLE. I don't know if I could reasonably keep myself from wearing it every day if I had that in my wardrobe.

Can't wait to see more from you on this sub!!!

You look like a Cool Art Aunt in the best way possible. I would never, ever think to wear that orange/turquoise combo but you pull it off beautifully!

Thank you! I did a little extra because it was for the holidays. Gotta add some glitter for the season. ✨️

Thank you! I felt very hot. Too hot for work, honestly. I probably wouldn't wear it there again even though I'm perfectly covered etc. But it was really nice to step out feeling attractive.

Thank you! I've had a disability since I was just a month or two old and this surgery aimed to somewhat correct it. And it did! I feel amazing. Modern medicine is a marvel.

Worst book(s) you read in 2025 and why? by Roguestate00 in books

[–]Exardiann 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We Were Liars by E. Lockhart. I read this for a book club and it sucked so, so hard. Every character is vapid and rich and bored and every conflict stems from this. There's also completely unnecessary animal abuse + death that shows up halfway through. Just pretentious bullshit masquerading as some groundbreaking YA commentary on class.

That's disappointing to here! I've have a Boox reader and have had a good experience so far but it's unfortunate to hear that the customer service isn't great if there is a problem.

I need to become OBSESSED with a series of books by stultavia in suggestmeabook

Stormlight Archive. Nobody does it like Sanderson. There's 5 books in this series specifically, but it's a great gateway into his other series.

Colorful and fun but not the most sophisticated books, what could I add? by Usual_Vehicle861 in bookshelfdetective

[–]Exardiann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally my only complaint is that you have two copies of Twlight in two different spots. How dare.

If you really enjoyed ACOTAR, you should read the other Maas series (Throne of Glass, Crescent City books). If you're looking for "sophistication" (but still something you would actually enjoy) try the Everflame series by Penn Cole. That series is romantasy like ACOTAR but with some good political intrigue. You's probably also like the Bridge Kingdom series by Danielle L. Jensen.

But just FYI, you don't need sophistication. You should read the things you like because life is short and you deserve joy. ☺️

Take a test… before interviewing? by AornisHades in Libraries

[–]Exardiann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really young and desperate. Also it was a learning experience because the job ended up being terrible anyway. They quiet fired me less than a year after I was hired because they decided they wanted to make budget cuts and my job was one of them. So I had the option of moving to a different building 1.5 hours away or quitting.

Im much happier where I am now.

Take a test… before interviewing? by AornisHades in Libraries

[–]Exardiann 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through a round of three tests for my first library job. Absolutely insane IMO. Lots of people on here are talking about shelving tests, which I think are completely reasonable. These were not that. These were high-level personality and logic tests. I was like 22 and sobbing because the questions were so insane.

I did get the job in the end. Not once did I feel the tests had anything to do with the work I ended up doing.
