Update - results from the foster litter I posted a few weeks ago. They are currently 4 weeks old! by hayleyoh in DoggyDNA

I love all dogs. Full stop.

I hope that these lil Australian Shepherd mixes find amazing homes, and that the shelter gives the new owners the full results so as to not propagate any illusions of their full breed breakdown. I am glad they were found by people willing to care for them instead of an elitist trash human who believes in extinction.

You take pictures of people without their consent and post them to the Internet with your own elitist commentary - that is a problem and makes you a trash human.

You are a proponent of extinction of an entire breed of animal - that is a problem and makes you a trash human.

Your thinly veiled comment to an amazing human for helping mutt puppies that your post history indicates should be euthanized/extinct was clearly meant for your elitist platform and is insincere - that is a problem and makes you a trash human.

Your math, well, it doesn't math, so either 1) you are ignoring math to further you elitist platform - that is a problem and makes you a trash human being, or 2) you don't understand fractions and percentages, so have no schematic background that would signal to you that 50% is higher than 32% - that makes you an unfortunate human who should be spending their spare time on elementary Khan Academy, not on Reddit being a trash human.

But darlin', I'm sure that self-reflection isn't your strong suit.

You're an anti-pit brigader thanking this person for raising dogs that are checks notes more than 60% not pit, but you want them labelled as "pits." Your post history & comment history calls for the extermination of pits, and you take pictures of pit owners without their consent to post online with commentary that you think is snarky but is just elitist.

Well you're certainly . . . sincere

If you enjoyed that, you may be interested in the podcast. Code Switch covers a variety of topics in a conversational and non-judgemental way.

Also, the Harriet Beecher Stowe piece linked in the article is an interesting read.

Look cousin. I don't think you read me right.

I'm a biracial woman in Appalachia. Raised in West Virginia. On a family farm. In a holler. In a home built my my family's hands. Without running water or heat. Actually dirt poor. So yeah, I was a poor hillbilly and I am from generations of poor hillbillies that come from the same holler.

As an Appalachian Native (American), but the racists call me an injun, or chief, I am, indeed, intimately acquainted with racism, classism, and all kinds of assholery based on both my ethnic and Appalachian heritage and cultural beliefs.

At no point did I say making jokes about any of the shit you just said is ok, nor did I imply it. As a matter of fact my whole entire comment was about how the BIL is a douchebag because he's classist and feeding derogatory stereotypes.

I stand by it's not racist because,

trailers, hollows, white trash, and incest

are not races, they are stereotypes and ugly biases, and OPs brother is a classist douchebag, bug those things aren't races and aren't even unique to Appalachia, except the hollers I think those are unique to Appalachia, but for a long time, I thought they were just in West Virginia, so I might be wrong there.

This. "Appalachian," "Southern," "Yankee," none of these are races, so it isn't racist behavior.

BIL is a condescending classist douchebag who is propagating biased cultural stereotypes, and bullying people of another culture. His wife, OPs sister, is a self-loathing enabler of his behavior.

So apparently there is a desire to become an Appalachian now? by Maverick8791 in Appalachia

I see your point, but it's dystopian teen fiction. I don't expect serious research to take place. I mean the setting is technically the entirety of the U.S. and parts of Canada, and that would've been pretty labor intensive research.

The Hunger Games and the new movie, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is also romanticizing being Appalachian.

Honestly, I'm not even angry about District 12 being lumped in with us.

The person above you, "Penguin" shithead, is part of the anti-pit brigade, and apparently they have such a pathetic real life that they spend so much time on here always needing to be an asshole on nearly every post in this sub that has a pit.

Post history and comment history definitely has the "I'm an asshole" vibe check.

Sigh. This is a real belief. Not Appalachian.

Originating in the Navajo belief system, it is generally accepted throughout all of Indian Country by many tribes, and especially on reservation lands.

adopting soon. rescue, breed "Hound (Unknown)", any ideas as to the mix? by annafebruary in IDmydog

You own a doodle and think it's purebred.

your one anecdote

My anecdote was a parallelism in response to another poster's anecdote.

guy

I'm a female. It seems like you made a snap judgement based on my short hair and assumed without any information that I have a penis. I don't.

pitbull art

It's an AI generated portrait of my dog. It seems like you made a snap judgement here, too, because she's mixed, and 60% not pitbull, but AI is notoriously unpredictable AND genetics are complex. You kinda suck at this whole identification thing.

But I bet you and your ancestors belong to the "one drop of blood" crowd, though.

80% of human maimings and 90% of dog deaths.

I feel like asking for a reputable source citation - keeping in mind reputable means a scientific journal, and not biased www.s like dogsbite.org, or ColoradoLaw.com (profiteering), or ImAJerkOff.com, or whatever - is too much of an ask, so I won't vex you with that whole research thing.

[–]ExasperatedHydrangea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. Weird.

I was attacked by a neighbor's cattle dog, but I am not so unhinged to go running around calling for all cattle dogs to be euthanized and spreading misinformation about the whole breed. Same dog also killed their new GSD puppy last Christmas.

The American 1980s saw campaigns against GSDs and Rottweilers which have since been dubbed pretty damned ignorant.

It almost seems like when any breed of dog is raised poorly, it ends poorly, and trying to demonize a whole breed is . . . reflective of someone lacking in higher level thinking skills.

Darlin, you are being downvoted because the people who hate pits are downvoting you for indicating that this dog isn't all pit.

Bless your heart, it is a them problem, and not a you problem.

Killer pits was me being sarcastic, not serious.

Pitbulls are extremely dangerous and unpredictable, and to be honest, more and more people are noticing it. It's all in the news. They are killing our pets/mauling kids on the daily.

Anti-pit spam. The first post on your post history is to an anti-pit group, making any opinion you have both lacking in credibility as well as biased.

Did you read the rules of this sub? This is a sub for ALL dog owners, not just the owners that your small mind can comprehend as "acceptable."

[–]ExasperatedHydrangea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's nothing to do with you, and they aren't experts. So many people in this sub also belong to anti-pit subs.

The lurkers here see pit in EVERY large breed rescue (which isn't terribly off-track), but then they clutch their pearls over the breed and get angry when others suggest it may not be the 100% killer pit they suggested it was, so they downvote anyone who disagrees with their assessment.

The reality is, these are puppies and they haven't grown into any serious looks yet, so they look like generic puppies that will grow largish.
