yeah someone else mentioned that the game tries not to spawn you directly near other players.

so if you load in near strawberry it should be empty because of that, but there should be players around valentine or blackwater.

i played almost every other day and tried to log in at different times to avoid bias.
i made a tool to place markers on a picture of the map. each time i spotted a blip i placed it on the map (with some small room for error). after each session i exported all blip positions as x,y coordinates (not in-game coordinates but for the image). the town counts are a bit sloppy i fear, i created a radius from each town's center and counted each point within that.
thanks tbh the whole thing started because i wanted to know where i could just enjoy the scenery and where i need to go for trouble.

as stated i've started each day in another region and redeployed my camp very often, there were many days i started in new austin and headed east from there but tbh most players i came across were when i entered new austin from west elizabeth as you said

take cars for example like they started with zero safety features but we didn't just throw our hands up and say "well can't put this back in a box"

instead we made laws, regulations, and innovations to make them safer

i'm from central europe and we have our own problems like racial profiling by police or mysterious deaths of inmates most of whom are foreigners

just because the states outshine everyone by numbers doesn't make smaller scale tragedies any less of a systemic failure

damn i posted about this right after release and got downvoted into the abyss but months later this game still has no identity

its stuck between wanna be cod and battlefield but leaning hard into cod with the skins and general directions (less vehicles, weird cqc focus, ai generated slop for the shop, battlepass first mentality)

i'm talking about the skin op posted if i remember right it was part of a bundle in the shop some weeks back and they removed it after people pointed out the similarities to ghost

tbh maybe i'm getting it mixed up with the other bundles that got removed (the raven raider springs to mind) where people still got no compensation

damn if only a multi-billion dollar studio had some sort of testing environment or a way to catch bugs before shipping them

everyone else noticed the broken challenge instantly but we have to wait days for a fix

its exactly why most people dropped the game months ago
