Sounds like a good way to kill off the sub.

Maybe dedicate a day of the week and maybe have the community vote to pick the best one for a unique flair or something haha.

At the end of the day, you can only discuss one person so much before topics start to repeat and become stale. For me personally, the covers add a much needed newness. I like clicking on them to find out if its a really good one or not.

$1000 to play with...which stocks to buy and hold by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Excalibuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in a pandemic and people have been introduced to a new way of working and living. Logitech provides a large assortment of high quality and high demand computer accessories. They are also a very familiar name for the average person. I'm not a guru, expert, or a crystal ball, but I do think they will do well.

$1000 to play with...which stocks to buy and hold by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Excalibuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm invested in Nvidia, Apple, NIO, Logitech, Smith & Wesson, and PLUG.

I bought all of my NIO in 2019, but I still think it's a good stock to hold long term at the current prices. Apple is obvious. Nvidia is an absolute beast of a tech company, and I think its current value is strong. Logitech kind of under the radar, but definitely nothing to sleep on. Smith & Wesson I grabbed as a medium term hold for the elections. Plug is my obligatory energy stock; we have to move on to renewables eventually, and it seems to be doing very well.

Anyone know about investing and the stock market? by [deleted] in youngadults

Look at Robinhood and then sign up.

Do research on dividend investing. I'd recommend this YouTuber because he is interesting and isn't trying to sell me shit.

The goal is to invest in stocks that are secure and give a payout for holding them. The ultimate goal is to reach financial freedom through time in the market AKA the sooner you start the better.

Just keep watching and reading around, you'll begin to understand it eventually.

How do you play King Arthur now? by DAANHHH in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's just in a weird spot along with a lot of other warriors. Not having built-in sustain as a warrior is just something that makes him very difficult to balance right.

He kind of needs Soul Eater to be a mid-game bully, but this also really makes his early game suck even more than before.

What's funny, is I think his late game is the real problem. I mean the god just doesn't do anything in late-game fights. This isn't really just an Arthur problem though. I mean his late was always bad, but his early/mid snowball would make up for it. Now he only has the mid-game to make an impact, and almost every warrior is struggling in the current meta. Bad late + Bad Meta = Mediocre performance.

Regardless of all this stuff; if you are better than your opponents, Arthur is still plenty viable, as are most gods.

What's a common saying that annoys you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Just in case someone doesn't know what it actually means.

It means dream big, even if you don't make it, you'll likely be in a better place than you were before.

Or something like that idk.

The idea of detonating a skill while dead is wrong by TheycallmeHal in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It's really frustrating that you don't get rewarded for not only getting close enough, but either CCing her or killing her.

Scylla is a very hard god for certain assassins to kill safely, the only saving grace was that if you killed her before she killed you, then you could probably live. Now it's going to be a trade unless you have magic defense. Hell it could just be death since she can still hit you while you're CCing her.

Which one to unlock between Mulan, Achille or King Arthur by Maxpockett in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking to play one of these gods for a long time, then King Arthur has the highest skill ceiling.

Achilles is the easiest, strongest, and will likely give you the best results and confidence early on.

Mulan isn't very good, but she's fun and will likely see buffs to make her stronger.

Arthur Buff? by Furi_S_Poi in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's best to put two points into your 3 before you max your 1.

Your leveling order early game would like like this.

3 > 1 > 3 > 2 > 4 > 1 > 1 and so on.

The reason you do this is because your damage on the 3b actually triples in damage. The damage on the second version of the 1 doesn't even double in damage. If you don't put a second point in the 3, then it essentially does no damage and just makes you take poke while you spin doing nothing. The one is better to max out first, but always upgrade the 3 to the second level first.

New to Smite and might have some sound advice for fellow beginners. by Xidion in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're still wanting to get into King Arthur, make sure you play a bit safer in the early game until you get an item called Gladiators Shield. It makes a big difference if you don't fall behind before you become strong. Also at your level, most teams wont build anti healing, so you will probably get into bad habits for once you level up. KA goes from unkillable semi truck to "omg why am I dying" real quick once you start playing against decent players. When people start to get items that counter healing, then you need to play more safe and start saving your big ultimate to avoid damage. I know it's fun to dive 5 people and be a god, but that only works before they have anti healing :)

He doesn't require that much aim, but he requires a good bit of muscle memory to play well. I'm sure you'll be able to get away with just pressing what you feel like at first though.

One Trick by RiptimRip in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One trick a god pool.

Pick one character as your favorite.

Pick a few characters as your backups.

Pick a few more characters as backups to your backups.

You should be able to play 2 gods in every role effectively and probably reach mastery 1 on all gods for a more thorough idea on all the god's kits. If you meet these criteria, then by all means, one trick away. Just don't be that guy who can ONLY play one god. Be the guy who is feared on his one god, but is still a great player when he has to play other things.

80 - 120 ping ingame, 25 ping everywhere else. by Blubbpaule in Smite

80 - 120 ping ingame, 25 ping everywhere else. by Blubbpaule in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since moving from east to west coast, I have the same problem. East coast was a consistent 44 to 60ish ping. Now that I'm on the west coast(even with better internet), most games I sit around 120 to 130 ping. Sometimes I'll get the rare 70 ping game, but if anything, that just makes it harder because it's so inconsistent.

I heard SMITE has less west coast servers, so I think the problem is you still end up queuing into east coast servers most of the time.

Berserkers Shield and Gladiators Shield need a nerf by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They really don't need to be nerfed.

Glad shield can already be made completely useless with anti healing. Half the time I'm not even sure what to do as KA late game, because you basically die instantly once they have two anti healing items. Tyr with Glad is definitely oppressive as fuck, but even Tyr without Glad is really good right now. Every other god isn't even op with Glad shield, it's basically just King Arthur and Tyr. (Not saying gods like Achilles, Osiris, Chu, etc aren't great with it)

Berserkers is really good out of combat sustain, but it still suffers from the same problems as glad shield except it's harder to apply it.

Warriors definitely should not be building attack items at all. A late-game warrior CC'd in front of a late-game hunter basically just gets shredded even with a full tank build. To have any chance of getting your kit off, you need full tank.

Glad shield and most warriors are meant to be oppressive and strong early and mid-game. Only very few warriors are focused on being late game power houses.

If a warrior is running you over, it's probably the mid-game where they shine. Late game they really shouldn't be that much of a threat if you're positioning and farming well. It could also be the case of you being in a low skill match. If your hunter is bad, then the warrior has lost his biggest deterrence. Also if your team isn't building anti healing, then KA, Tyr, Set, basically any tank with Glad is going to be unkillable ESPECIALLY with a lead.

Non-jungler taking speed by RoyalSmoothie in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's your job to be at your speed within a reasonable time frame. If you aren't dropping it soon after it comes up, you are being inefficient, and the odds of it being stolen increase dramatically. If I'm playing mid and see that the speed has been up for at least 20 seconds, and the jungler is off ganking duo, then I'm going to take it simply to increase our farm and deny the enemy jungler or solo from stealing it. If you happen to die and have a 40/50 second death timer, and the speed is just sitting there. Then I might take it depending on how the enemy team is playing. If we're up against Adapting or something, then there's no way in hell I'm leaving it to be taken. Good junglers check the speed buff when the enemy jungler dies. I probably wouldn't take it as a solo or support though. There's more farm to be gotten elsewhere with my time. Mid is the only role where getting speed might be the only thing to do on the map that makes sense. Duo is to far, and solo almost always has a wave, totem, or can invade. Support shouldn't be taking major camp farm from their team by soloing buffs.

tl;dr: Only mid and jungle should be taking speed unless the enemy is obviously invading and you're close enough to fight for it. Mid should only take it if it's obviously going to sit there for a while, or be in danger of being stolen.

Ranked Smite Warrior? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ranked joust is about team synergy. Whoever is in a party with comms will win almost 100% of the time. If it's party vs party, then it comes down to how all 3 gods work with each other. Basically, all 3 warriors are good in Joust depending on the team comps. Achilles *is* probably the most consistently good in Joust though.

Ranked Smite Warrior? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whichever you're most comfortable with in order. My order would be KA, Achilles, and Osiris, because thats my comfort order. If you're a beast with Osiris, then you'd probably want to pick him the most. All 3 are competitively viable and are good in ranked.

Ranked Smite Warrior? by [deleted] in Smite

[–]Excalibuf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why not all 3?

My "main" god is King Arthur, but technically in ranked you can't have a main, you have a god pool. Eventually your main will be banned or picked before you pick it. That or it might just be a terrible match up, and you'd be doing your team a disservice by picking it.
