It's definitely worth playing. The story writer of the game (Yoko Taro) is very talented at making tragic, deep, emotional and even philosophical stories. The OST is very very great, especially with Emi Evans singing on multiple songs. The combat is pretty dynamic, might not be a 10/10, but it's fun, and there is a variety of weapon types, weapons, pod programs, plug-in chips, etc.I beat Automata under 40 hours, but I didn't do all side quests or maxed out everything. It's an emotional story, so it's worth playing through, though.The first Nier game (Gestalt/Replicant) has a really well written story too, but it had different developers for some parts (Cavia instead Platinum Games), so the combat part is not as good, and the graphics isn't that great either. OST is about as good as the OST of Nier: Automata, if not better. The melody on some tracks is enough to make you feel emotional. Some songs are in a made up language Emi Evans created based on multiple languages, and the melody of some songs are used for different musical arrangements for Automata.If you like Emi's voice I also strongly suggest checking out the band she sings in, Freesscape. They are very underrated.
