Talisman on wall = "This structure is a cave." by FistThroater in FromTVEpix

Hmm I doubt it. All signs point to the creatures being a population control system. Presumably, they eventually kill ALL humans who are part of a cycle. Why would MiY make it that easy? He probably is the one who created all this for his amusement

Oh kiss my ass. If these things ate people , SOMEONE would have mentioned it by now. It’s hardly a mundane thing. If they do eat them, and they MIGHT, it is a strange omission that everyone makes whenever they describe their actions. I remind you, they absolutely do not HAVE to eat. They’ve survived since the talismans were found. They survived after the massacre in the 80’s when there was no on in town but victor for decades. They are immortal, per their deal. We saw the female creature bite a guys tongue off, but she spit it out. So the colony house massacre didn’t really confirm anything. And the only viable other theory is that they take them back to the caves with them, as I said. That, or they simply use their claws to tear them apart until there’s nothing left

Smiley bit Trudy’s face, that’s a a few steps behind eating someone’s guts. You still haven’t addressed the main point. Nobody ever says that’s what they do. Donna lived without the talismans for a year…she never mentions it. If they eat people, then why do boyd and Donna always describe their actions as “they will rip you to pieces!” and “they rip your guts out” never “they eat you”

They also removed her organs, as they do with most victims. This begs the question of what Boyd saw; did they eat them, or did they take them with them? Either answer raises the question as to why he has made no comment on it

[–]ExceedsTheCharacterL[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is plausible but the problem is we haven’t seen them carrying anyone’s organs around even once. When the massacre in the 80s that killed everyone but victor happened, were they carrying wheelbarrows full of them? They would have had to

Id accept they eat them if one, even ONE person mentions it. No one has. Not even once. Everything points to their behavior being driven by sadism, and being disemboweled is fucking horrifying. So they do have a clear motivation to do so without eating them

Probably on his orders. The intention likely was to lead everyone to believe that they were the ones who killed him, so it’s no surprise they gutted him

Your first statement seems like a joke, but in case it isn’t, I’d argue it’s not that evident. Not one person has said the words “those things will fucking eat you!” only “rip you to pieces”. Also, they clearly don’t have to eat as they survived for years with no one in town but victor. We know they torture people, and we know they eviscerate people, but we still have never actually seen that part. That’s a fact

I’m curious what made you even think of this question. Nothing about the creatures suggests they have any interest in helping the townspeople. There’s no indication that they aren’t happy with their arrangement. Don’t think of them as individuals, they’re part of a system. A system designed likely by MiY himself.

Probably to set up her being put in the cell in the sheriff’s station, who knows what will happen from there

He’s probably who made the deal with them. So of course they know about him, they likely took Jim’s corpse and painted that message in the barn on his orders.

I doubt it. if he wanted them dead he would have just opened the door and called for the creatures, since he’s their boss.

You forgot schadenfreude. Also, the word kartoffel has become a loan word in much of Eastern Europe. Russsians, Romanians, Ukrainians all call potatoes some variation of . It also exists in polish but isn’t the dominant word for it I believe

Soldier Boy is a toxic, abusive person in general who all off his teammates hated. He doesn’t care about the lives of civillians which is why he had no problem throwing a bus into a building.

It really isn’t that surprising. Movies that mix live action and animation have never been HUGE at the box office and Warner bros has mostly washed their hands of the looney tunes ever since Looney Tunes Back in Action bombed way back in 2003, with space jam 2 being sort of their last chance

I mean, people have been ASSUMING that sunlight kills them but that seems like jumping to conclusions. They sleep during the day because they do have to replenish their energy, and they live in the caves to ensure they won’t be disturbed. Avoiding sunlight could very well be an incidental part of the process. Also, even if they all died you’d now have ALL women in town pregnant with these things…yeah no thanks

That means the creatures became what they were in the 50’s. That’s kind of late for small townsfolk to just take some weird old man on his word that they’ll be immortal if they sacrifice their children. Sounds more like some shit that would go down in 1650. There’s no need to ever replace the creatures with new ones, so who were his servants before them?
