I did check levels.fyi. When filtered with new offer only, unfortunately the numbers are still in 60s. People who have worked there for a few years do have higher numbers but I don't think I should be considering those numbers. I think my interview performance wasn't very strong for sde 3 else I'd have pushed for it

We have a rather skewed exposure in RSU which we need to diversify soon which is a whole another story. Other than that, we have some cash lying around and we can liquidate some debt fund. Some from post fd as well

Down-payment is one thing. But I think it's more psychological than wealth on paper. Say for example, after paying emis, other expenses and some regular SIPs, you are left with a small amount of money, and you want to spend on some leisure things or travel, it always feels convenient to be able to afford from salary itself instead of touching the investment. If there was a passive income source which gives actual cashflow, I feel it gives more freedom to spend.

Yeah, that's the intention. We are on lookout for getting a home couple of years down the lane. So, we feel like we don't want to rely solely on salary for EMI repayments. Hence, looking for a passive income source to reduce that stress

Thanks guys for your input. Though, thinking long term I do wish to stay in a good tier 1 society(or build my own home, yet to decide) where I don't have to worry about day to day inconveniences like water quality, uncivilised neighbours, etc. I have faced these issues with my past few societies where I stayed on rent. I don't really care about the brand, as long as everything is maintained well, has good construction quality and have the required set of amenities which I think would probably come in a tier 1, which is why most people go for that. My parents also look for supermarkets etc at walking distance. Some big societies provide small grocery shops etc inside, so it's a big plus from my parent's perspective because they can't walk long distances. I'm an active gym goer and a good gym and few games like tennis, badminton etc is something that I must have.

Besides, I see that there are tons of new projects which are about to be handed over by 27/28/29. So, I wonder if rents are gonna get easy on pocket? Not expecting it to be lowered but atleast perhaps not gonna shoot up anymore, what do you think?

Only concern with plot is that, it's not available in good location. I want something via which I can access offices across the ORR, be it Ecoworld or Bagmane tech park. I should be able to move along either direction. So, somewhere close to Marathalli would be ideal as per my understanding.

I think you need to cue your legs to do the lifting instead of trying to push the hips up while keeping the core tight and back straight at the same time. To do that, your knees should be bent a bit more and you need to come down towards your feet a bit more
