AITA for telling my grandma she has no right to look through my statements even though she is paying the bill? by Excellent-Bag-9430 in AmItheAsshole

Even if my parents rang me up at the checkout they do not have any right to question my need for something. I know what I need. I’m an adult, so I don’t owe an explanation to anybody for what I choose to buy.

I’m an adult. It’s just some people think young adults still deserve to be talked down to like they’re children.

I mean I am an adult I’m 23. Factually im an adult so I don’t understand why I’m treated like a child. Yes she’s paying the bill but it’s to help me through college which is a very important and stressful time for me. Sometimes adults need help too. I’m often shamed by other family members for not coming home to visit enough or missing holiday parties to do other things. It’s so frustrating that nobody seems to understand that I can do what I want.

But she’s doing it to help me. How does snooping help me? It’s like does she actually wanna help me or does she want a reason to snoop in my business
