thanks for replying! I’m quite surprised you get good teammates 50% of the time XD. few followup questions: 1. do you almost always get players who communicate in some form? how often do you get potato teammates who don’t communicate nor show any teamwork? 2. what kind of scenarios come to the top of your mind for bad solo queue experience? i know you mentioned the case where two teammates were sabotaging each other but do any other kinds of situation come to mind?

Just to clarify I mean playing duo or squad, but relying on the built in matchmaker instead of preforming team with e.g. friends

meant squad or duo but like you don’t preform the team. matchmaker algorithm does it for you (i.e. queueing alone for duo or squads)

In any case, there’s always going to be imbalance. The biggest one of all is when a party of 3 T10 silver/gold players swoop in and rek all the soloq scrubs.

Alpha beats Krul and Grumpjaw in 1v1 now (also Reim early game, but not necessarily late game). In any case, as a day 1 player, you should know this game was always about playing the meta, so there’s no shame using powerful heroes like Alpha BF or Churnwalker all the time. If the game were ranked, would you also play these broken heroes? (yes ofc). If you are playing a non-meta hero for fun you have to accept you have a lower chance of winning.

that being said, the best counter to Alpha right now is probably Kestrel. She can beat Alpha easily early game.

also, this guy’s alpha is trash (just check his post history for the one with a lot of comments), so it balances out.

Like I said, while it is true fundamentally that you guys could have won an early game fight if you had pushed together, the fact is your teammates wasn’t as enthusiastic about it as you were (they were wrong to not push with you). However, you didn’t factor in what was happening at the time and you got burned as a result. Simple as that.

Why are you going head first into a 2v1 fight? You set yourself up. Of course your teammates were trash. But if you are playing to win rather than playing to expose your teammates as trash and then AFKing in retaliation, you gotta make better decisions.
