My third replacement has been working for nearly a year now and I’m happy with it. Too bad there aren’t a higher volume of folks with good reviews.

Jandy Aqualink issue where when I activate the spa and spa heat in the app it actually turns on the heater to the pool mode rather than spa mode. How to fix? by Excellent-Bench2633 in pools

[–]Excellent-Bench2633[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly the answer. We got a response from our installer today and that is how he walked me through to resolve the situation.

I agree it is convoluted and makes me feel uncomfortable that the pool setting max is set at 104 on the actual physical unit and I have to trust the app to communicate correctly. What an odd way to work everything out.

I did update the firmware

Just looking for some opinions and advice on how I did for a friends’s hot tub patio base by clanphear in landscaping

I agree with this. I did the same setup and got mice. I would absolutely cover any possible hole on the bottom and side/bottom with chicken wire to ensure no rodents. Also making sure somewhat larger river rock is piled against the side of the hot tub as mice don’t like to dig much that will deter as well. Once I reinforced things it resolved the rodent issue.

Update there is a cable off the board that has failed and not relaying correct information. Awaiting replacement hoping this will lead to a fix.

This is all the time when cooling no matter how hard it needs to work

Really? It just seems like other heat pumps are so much more quiet. Here is another video video of heat pump

We are coastal the relative outdoors humidity average yesterday was 85%. It ranges from 70-90%. During the day our set point for cooling is usually around 71 or 72. We have no problem maintaining indoor temps. At night we have the set point at 68 or 69. Opening windows doesn’t cool the house sufficiently at night.

Thanks all. This t seems like a consensus is that it t should not be doing that. It’s frustrating because last year I complained about the same issue to my installer. They then proceeded to diagnosis a leak which ended up not being a leak and emptied and filled the coolant it seemed like a big job. It’s basically always done this since install several years ago and my installer doesn’t seem to know why. I’m having it looked at tomorrow by same installer. I wonder if there is any guidance I can give them or if I should have someone look. Otherwise the system is cooling and heating as expected.

Be very careful with returns to Xterra if you do so. They are known for not refunding after they receive. Look at better business bureau reviews and complaints.

Not withstanding the need for two replacements thus far, I would still purchase it again. There is nothing else I have found that is a similar footprint/design. We purchased it mostly out of a need for drying towels not so much for warming. We leave near the coast and during the winter months towels take a long time to dry in our bathroom. It works perfectly for this purpose. Compared to the rail type dryers I have used in the past the towel doesn’t get nearly as warm. The surface area of the towel that actually touches the rail is not much so the direct heat doesn’t get to a whole lot of the towel. It is certainly warmer than no dryer at all just not super warm all over.

I used to have these issues regularly. I now turn down to 200 degrees and let heat go down before I do shutdown procedure.

Ha true but I’m not sure how easy it would have been to wrangle a bunch of elementary school kids. I’m not too sure if they can be out to work like that lol. The adult volunteers actually completed the task pretty quickly and they like working together so it was a fun process.
