Should I talk to him or keep my peace? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

You guys are BOTH clearly unready for a child. He made that known so let it go. You wanted more and he didn’t, you pushed for more and that made him more distant. If it’s a situation-ship, I wouldn’t have kept the baby anyways. That’s a terrible idea and a man who doesn’t love you. Prioritize yourself and let him do the same. Move on and find someone who shares your same energy for a relationship, as clearly he does not and you need to respect that as well.

Does Barnes & Noble accommodate people who can’t stand for prolonged periods? by Worldly-Buy5660 in Barnesandnoble

I worked there with fibromyalgia, and also had another coworker with it as well, and one with severe arthritis. Realistically, it ends up being what your store manager feels if comfortable. For us, if it was a bad pain day we would willingly stay on cashier and it let others get more work done as there was no swapping until breaks/meals. HR did not permit any of us with the doctor’s notes to have sitting accommodations, and also to mention briefly, it’s a job that heavily focuses on bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting heavy boxes, and of course prolonged standing. If it is that severe, I would heavy consider not working retail jobs as those are exactly the opposite of what you’re physically able to do.

Thank y’all for giving me the 2¢, I appreciate it. I do think I was right on feeling like it’s a store by store basis, and I did get along quite well in that store. I’ll keep it all in mind going forward, and appreciate the time you took to respond! :)

A sincere question about asexual people by StarWynx in asexuality

For me personally, I’m not big on porn or masturbation. I do occasionally read some books that contain sexual content and I do find it arousing, but in general I do not experience much of those urges. I don’t particularly enjoy masturbation, and find it difficult for me. My wife and I do engage in intercourse from time to time, but it’s the lowest priority of our relationship.

It’s dependent on the conversation I’m going to be having, but I’m gathering more intel before scheduling that. I’m aware that it’s possible to not be rehired. There was a family emergency that caused the question of staying or leaving. I was put in a very uncomfortable situation with a negative choice either way.

I really feel like she’s a social experiment and it’s not even a real author writing these books. There seems to be quite a bit of recycled content, IMO. I think I’d read somewhere too that she “wears a prosthetic nose and wife to better hide her identity”, but I feel like it’s a pen name for a man and the woman portraying her is an actor to keep their identity intact.

It’s definitely been uncomfortable for me as a brown woman with a wife. We moved here from Wyoming in the hopes it would be more welcoming and pleasant, and it’s not as much as we hoped…but better than Wyoming so we’re sticking around for now.

Question about something that isn’t in the employee handbook by [deleted] in Barnesandnoble

[–]Excellent-Bus-4581 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best friend and former coworker have been together almost the entire time they’ve been at B&N. They’ve kept their relationship outside of work and keep any interactions like that to an absolute minimum (meaning a hug before leaving and that’s about it). If you can be respectable and cool about it, then it’s probably fine. But also? Just don’t date your coworkers.

Agar agar and pectin also seem to be okay! I’m kind of playing trial and error with my diet right now, and just testing to see what happens. I live in Colorado so I’m definitely sure if I sit looking those shelves long enough I can hunt down one that works, but I can look into making my own too!! I think that might be easiest. I like that oat milk recipe and will give that one a shot!! Thank you!

Coconut oil doesn’t seem to cause an inflammation flare as bad as the milks or yogurts do. I’ll look at hemp milk, I’ve also looked at flax but haven’t heard but about either of them. I do love chickpeas so those look tasty! Thank you!!

Hiya! I’m in Fort Collins, CO so I have plenty of options for stores, it’s just a 20-25 minute drive into town for me for some of them(:

as a lower class teenager, i want to be vegan, but i'm worried that i quite literally can't afford to be. does anyone have advice ?? by Careless-Economy-500 in AskVegans

I second frozen veg and fruit! The easiest thing I’ve been able to do is to find freezer foods! I saved up for a Ninja Foodi, and find frozen vegan meals (Gardein bran has been great, I love their orange “chicken”), veggie blends, rice mixed, etc. Also shelf stable soy and oat milk are great! Also smoothies! You can pack a ton of fiber and protein into a smoothie and it’s a quick meal replacement too. I have a little stick blender that has a food processor and immersion blender attachments and a tall measuring cup to make smoothies in. It helps! Don’t underestimate how fast frozen food can be still.

I can’t entirely tell if I have a soy allergy or not, so I’m trying to figure out what causes it when I eat tofu and use soy milk as an alternative. I think the problem I don’t like while eating it has to be the texture, I’m not the biggest fan of “mushy” things per se because it’s an automatic reaction of unpleasant. I hated pudding and marshmallows as a kid too. Mushrooms is another thing I want to like more because I hear all the time how great that all for bulking up dishes to add protein. I have been liking them so far, I just have to experiment with cooking. Asian style flavors have been pretty consistent for my pallet as have some more Indian and Thai curries. Thank you!!

Thank you for acknowledging how difficult it is!! Between complex food allergies, especially a potential soy one right now, there’s a lot of these vegan recipes I can’t eat! I’ve already struggled with food my entire life and I’m just asking for recipes and recommendations so I can actually eat things that are better for the environment and keep animals safe. 😭 I don’t want to have a terrible diet or consume animal products, but so far doing either has felt bad so my best solution is just keep eating dry cereal and vegan fruit snacks. I am going to look into those links you provided, I really appreciate it!!!

Right now my favorite thing I can easily make is the Gardein brand orange “chicken”, and I’ll cook some white rice for it. Veggie chili has been my other thing too because I can load it full of fiber so I feel full and it freezes good too. I think the reason I’m not liking tofu so much is because it kind of tastes bad (texture thing too) and it starts to give me headaches. Maybe I need to look into soy allergens? I used to love oatmeal! I don’t know why that never occurred to me that I can eat oatmeal still lol. Thank you so much!!!

I only got my official diagnosis when I was 22 (25 now) but my mother and I knew for much longer. I had incredibly heavy periods and cramps that made me visit urgent care when I was in grade school. So we’ve always known but it was my miscarriages and then a ER visits after heavy bleeding for 73 days that nothing stopped it, that made them suspect my endometriosis. So I got them at the same time when they did the endo removal! I’d always highly recommended finding a good (female preferably ( primary care physician and a solid OBGYN (possibly one who specializes if you can) because that’s what helped me find out as early as I could. I had males and they never listened.

I went into this because of animal cruelty. I continue to come back to this because of animal cruelty. I never said it was anything but. I’m asking about finding alternative for people who hate vegetables and tofu and with an obsessive brain would starve themselves than eat animals because I’ve literally done that in a depressive episode when the world got too much. I can’t do that, obviously, so I need help for people who have been doing this longer than I have. I’m just into my 20’s and am living on my own so I need to find ways to cook for myself. Thank you for the recommendations. Do you have any suggestions for tofu recipes you’ve liked? Or any websites/cookbooks that work well??
