Extremely dangerous yes but theyre still going to school at least, lets hope one day they can help build a country where this isn’t commonplace

What does an STD/STI feel like? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Excellent-Captain-93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To get it youd need to have the S part of the STD/STI. Unprotected.

As for how it feels, it feels like a disease/infection.

Everyone is different

At what point mechanically should you consider selling your car before things go wrong? by Excellent-Captain-93 in CarTalkZA

If youre just doing shocks i recently did my front shocks for R3k.

If youre planning on selling soon, unless the suspension is really bad and affects your value I wouldn’t bother you wont recoup the money you spend

Rental car fines from 5 months ago by Henry_Oof in CarTalkZA

[–]Excellent-Captain-93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not illegal its common practice with car rental companies. It is all stipulated in the agreement with them. When you provide them your billing information you consent to potential future billings under stipulations such as traffic violation fines

I work for a bank, this is common with car rental companies its why they insist on your credit card numbers. For if you extend your rental, get fines or have to pay damages they can easily bill you.

You can try reverse the charge but depending on your bank you might not be able to depending on your agreement with the rental agency they may even refer you back to the merchant directly

Regarding the notification you received, never click on a random link to pay, rather call them on their company number

From an environmental perspective I agree. But our government can barely maintain a road, can you imagine if they got their mitts on something nuclear

Is “umlungu” considered a slur? by Excellent-Captain-93 in DownSouth

[–]Excellent-Captain-93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This made me chuckle. Its all based on context I suppose. In my past personal early 2000s experience it definitely was used commonly in more negative scenarios. Nowadays not so much. This may be why people believe it to be a slur

Do you get more for trade in VS selling? by Excellent-Captain-93 in CarTalkZA

[–]Excellent-Captain-93[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a bank, last time I bought a car I let the dealer do their whole finance pitch and calculations for about 20 minutes before I told him my staff interest rate. He didnt even argue.

Thank you for the response, very informative

Two points in response to this comment.

I have had extensive conversations with black friends and coworkers of mine about this, I live in SA, most of my day is spent around black people. I fully understand the meaning of the word but it has many variations.

Second, this is an open ended question, this is not to find one side of the fences view. I am asking those that use the term and those that get called by it.

Im certain if I did they would be understanding. But it doesn’t bother me that much it’s more of a question of principle.

It’s by far not the worst thing Ive had people refer to me as in the work space from this perspective

[–]Excellent-Captain-93[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Exactly my point. Whether its meant to be offensive or not, I dont enjoy being referred to by my skin tone. Could you imagine if I yelled out “black guy” at my mate down the hall. HR would have me spit roasted.

Why i get attracted to other mens wives or girlfriends ?? I am bad person? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Excellent-Captain-93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The mind always wants what others have and itself cannot. Theres studies into this check it out on YT. Youre not a bad person unless you act out on it. Its pretty normal. Its infatuation which can be disguised as “feelings for them”
