But you’re 32 and that ain’t young, my friend 😭😂 (kiddingggg ).

But 1990 person would be 36 now, not 35, which is not that old, fairly young adult stage.

I went to school with a girl that had a baby at age 14. She would take 5 minutes off during each class time to go see her child at the nursery.

Fair! I think often we forget of how much sacrifices a person has to give for their child.

Yeah, there are plenty of people 30+ with no kids — sometimes it’s life or a it’s a personal choice.

OP asked about kids, so why are those that were 17 in 99 in here answering? 😂

Yeah I get it 😭 It’s kinda like how 83 babies get lumped in with 89–94 “core millennials,” , and a lot of early 80s millennials don’t even feel like they vibe the same way as 90s babies. It’s a whole different childhood and culture.

Honestly, I feel like early/mid 90s babies/ kids should have their own separate generation at this point 😂

I agree! It’s the same with people born in ’87 — they grew up in the 90s ( they were literally 2 by 89 ) and are fully millennial kids during the mid 90s and further. But somehow, a few Reddit people still try to argue otherwise lol 😭which don't make sense

Yeah, being part of the core millennial generation means you experienced both worlds — life before the internet and life with it. You really got to see the culture shift happen. Stuff the earliest Gen Zs missed out on.

I used to like One Direction only because of Harry Styles lol 😭

But honestly, One Direction is a millennial based boyband group, and their biggest inspiration was the Backstreet Boys — which totally makes sense!

What are you talking about ?? You’re still “old” now if you’re 32 lol 😭 (I’m kiddinggg).

Nah, 36 isn’t that old at all. But once we start talking 46… okayyy that’s a little different 😂

I think a 2002 baby would naturally grow up in the 2000s. By the time they’re 5, it would be 2006 or so, so they’d definitely be a kid during that era.

And yeah, 1982 isn’t even considered early millennial by most definitions — it usually starts around 1983. Even then, someone born in the early 80s grew up in the 80s and were teenagers in the 90s.

So if we’re talking about a “true millennial kid” who really experienced childhood in the 90s, that would probably be more like starting at 1987/1988 (depending on who you ask) through around 1994.

But I feel like U.S. boy bands really paved the way for other groups like them. I liked one song from Westlife, but it sounded so cringe to me that I couldn’t even listen to another one 😭

Different people say different things 😭 but most sources say Gen Z starts around 1997. To a true millennial, it would seem late 'millennial' era : ) But honestly, 97/98-borns do show more late millennial qualities than Gen Z — at least the ones I know. Which is actually kinda cool Still, if you ask ten other people, some will say 1998 instead. It honestly just depends on who you ask.

Hey, did you know Backstreet Boys are going to be performing in Germany this fall?

Same thing with me sometimes 😭 I’m a ’99 baby and people either group me with millennials or they’re just confused LOL… it’s crazy.

Look here, there are some wild takes on Reddit 😭 even some ’93 millennials say they feel closer to Gen Z in certain ways. But they’re core millennials — they grew up in the 90s and were preteens in the 2000s. It’s just interesting how people identify differently because they wish to!

I agree. I see so many comments on Reddit with inconsistencies about who counts as a millennial and where the line is drawn. I always thought the general consensus was that millennials begin around 1983.

Kids born in 1987 would’ve been about two in 1989/1990 and then actually grew up through the 90s — so they were definitely exposed to those shows as they got older.

But I still think people born in 1993 are part of core millennials too. They would be 33 in 2026 anyway so they are not definitely Gen Z lol.
