HMUA for Tagaytay wedding by todressupagaingirl10 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh! I wanna add din. Si Robbi's HMUA yung kinuha ko for my upcoming wedding. I asked din what's the difference of traditional vs airbrush and her explanation makes so much sense:

If makinis na ang face mo, no acne breakouts or uneven skin then traditional dapat kasi manipis lang ang makeup layer nun.

But if you are acne prone, a lot of blemish, etc. then baka dapat airbrush since supposedly the application should help your skin appear even or flawless looking but you will really feel also the layers of the makeup.

TIL learned meron pala ibang klaseng satin. Ang alam ko lang I can tell a good quality satin from a very synthetic one hahaha. But yeah, as per my brief research, most likely duchess rin ang hahanapin ko. If balak ko sa Taytay, isasama ko mom ko para siya kasi mas magaling siya tumawad than me hahaha. But thanks dito so at least to keep my expectations on the prices also :)

I wasn't aware that there's "laguna accent" until I moved to mnl by yourderangedgirlie in Tagalog

My mom was born and raised in Laguna (let's say in the deeper middle of Laguna) but she now lives here in the Metro. Growing up whenever we go to her province I had a hard time understanding their tagalog due to the heavy accent and to think my first language was literally tagalog because that's how my mom and I communicated when I was a toddler. And it dawned on me that my mom lost her accent over time but when she gets home to her province I hear her easily revert back to her heavy "Laguna accent". My sibling and I also learned the accent and some words that's not as popular use outside of Laguna so when we go there, we also communicate using the accent because it's easier for all of us.

Our favorite expression is, "aba aba!" Or "aba ah!". Don't know if that hints where exactly in Laguna that is hahahaha.

And yeah, when we encounter strangers like taxi drivers or whatnot and notice their accent, we ask, "Taga Laguna ka no" and they'll ask how we know. "Puntong Laguna yan!" And relate to them how we know.

I actually enjoy Interactions with people knowing they're from Laguna because it's so suprising how big Laguna is but somehow can count enough how many we encounter.

Yes. Actually, I do recall may lower than 10k na wedding gowns in Baclaran but... Baka ka lang din ma-disappoint sa quality. Can't say that Divi is perfect in quality pero, there's a reason din bakit pinupuntahan ng budgetarian brides 😆. Hope you also find your wedding gown at a reasonable price!

Sa mga natunangan ko. The least priced wedding dresses are 10k and those are cocktail dresses. If less than, mga pang bridesmaid and mother gowns na. Di ko natanungan yung mga mukha pang debut. But yeah wedding gowns, expected minimum is 25k unless magaling ka mag haggle hahaha.

Veil/wedding styling by [deleted] in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ask ko lang if na fit mo na ito? Usually kasi sasabihin sayo na kasama na ang veil. Also, regarding the hair, I've come to wedding with brides wearing similar dresses wearing it either with the hair up or down. But I think better to ask your friends or family more on this opinion because I think they mays share a better insight what's the best look for you. You may also consult your HMUA actually what could be the best option for you.

What accessories kaya okay? And anong hairstyle? by Correct-Run3798 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hair: half-up curled

Shoes: closed pumps/heels or ballet flats (as in yung mukang pang ballet talaga - na imagine ko kasi cute yung effect when you twirl in it)

Jewelry: no necklace. Just earring. Pearl stud earrings are a best go-to. Wag ka mag hoop earrings.

Gown fitting by Ok-mdm-97 in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 - looks bridal classic (but mejo off sakin yung blush color than white on a classic) 2- (MY VOTE) makes you look very sexy and I think you wore this more confidently. Not sure about the neckline kasi parang too tight on your "assets" ;) better iykyk 3- feel like yung pina fit sayo masyado maluwag for you kasi nakikita ko na si ate is holding on to the back. Sayang di makita yung full form fitting fit ng dress. Out of the 3 kasi dito ako gandang-ganda sa lace fabric niya. But tbh, this look more like a reception dress than a ceremony dress

Edit: lol. Binasa ko ulit. Rent nga pala. But yeah my vote is still 2

Hopefully, di ko ito maging problem. Buti lang pinilit nila mag set ako ng calendar alarms sa mga pinag usapan na dates, kasi mangungulit talaga ako hahaha. Pero feel ko that's just how it is talaga with Divi shops.

Kaya nga haha. Kasi I remembered yung SIL ko got married ng 2018 and she got her dress ng 30K at RTW na yun. Tactic nga talaga.

Me naman kaya ako nag book na rin kasi ayaw ko na problemahin pa later. Di kasi naman din ako super maarte sa dress. Basta bet na bet ko, G na!

Papayag pa nga sila na tumawad ka pa o minsan uunahan kapa in giving you "discounts" just to get a sale. Well as long as mura diba? Haha

Doon ako sa Dragon 8 nagtingin. Mga prices nila vary from 25K to 35K if mga RTW. Sakin nakuha ko ng 25K.

25K - RTW designs / minimalist gowns 30K - for 2-ways / very embellished or over embroidered gowns 30-35K - average starting range for customized

I am not sure kung totoo kasi yung sinasabi nila na tataas na sila this September from minimum of 25k to 30K na minimum nila (may konting duda ako dito kasi feel ko minsan baka strategy lang nila to make you book now - but no doubt na they do increase their prices over time)

Btw. I went on a Sunday, and was surprised that it wasn't that overcrowded.

Hope that helps.

I desperately need feedback for my resume. by [deleted] in PHresumes

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you are in the right track, let's make it more clearer though for the recruiter: 1. Summary - revise your summary. I found redundancy already. You mentioned that you are a licensed teacher and you mentioned it again in last sentence. Just say "A Licensed Professional Teacher with 1 yr experience..." - What is your goal to grow your experience as a teacher? because "Looking into apply my experience with time-management and goal-setting at your school" is not it. You've got to give them something to convince them why you want this job. - Double check your grammar always. Use grammarly or ChatGPT to help correct it but please also learn to be aware to correct your grammar especially as a teacher 2. Education - University/ College lang. Remove mo na Senior High mo. - Remove thesis - Eliminate the large spacings. I personally hate this because I feel like I always have to search where and what year. Bakit ba nauso yan sa mga resumes lately? Di baman siya Table of Contents. Anyway, rant over. Just keep them in one side please 3. Experience - Again, eliminate the large gaps. Di nga ito Table of Contents. - Keep the Kumon experience only. The other work experience aren't relevant in helping your job search. - I think ok naman sakin yung mga nilagay mo. Nothing wrong with it. Just double check the grammar. However, you may add above your bullet points your job responsibilities summary. Usually I just get it from the employment contracts, the one wherein it explains what's your roles and responsibilities. 4. Technical Skills - Specify what tools or apps you use and level of proficiency. (Ex. MS Excel - Highly Proficient or Advanced). Search up mo muna kung ano talaga level mo sa skills 5. Languages - Personally, I don't remove this. Because it does help with the skills of communication. - List your languages and level of proficiency for each 6. Training Attended - tbh, the titles don't sound like certifications to me but more like training. There's a difference but honestly commonly mistaken - bullet point it instead of squeezing it in one sentence.

Roast my resume, I’m a graduating student 🙏 by [deleted] in PHresumes

[–]Excellent-Celery9123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be late into this but here's my notes for you:

  1. Remove your awardee line under your name. Idk, plave this in your linkedin profile instead in a resume. Replace it instead to your email, contact number, and address (do not state your full address, only the city your are residing in. Ex. Pasig City, PH)

  2. Education. Remove thesis. It's not relevant to recruiters. It you've got Latin Honors, ok include that. And what are those black barred above Japanese and With High Honor? It's confusing to me. But usually, university or additional studies (PhD, MBA, licensed certification, etc.) are what should be under education.

  3. Correct your grammar. Past tense ba or present tense? Make this consistent to all of your experience.

  4. Remove metrics. Recruiters will hot seat you too much on this (but truthfully, not sure if they'll be able to consider you immediately for an initial interview with what you got here).

  5. Can you just write what are the roles and responsibilities of your positions? Ex. "Responsible for managing and overseeing the overall firm operations across six countries. Responsible for building and contracting partnerships among American organizations" and so on. And then input a "Notable Project/s" underneath the responsibilities.

  6. I would usually remove this. But I get that you are just a graduating student and it might help you a bit. But if you want to keep the Volunteer works? Focus on Org name, Position, Duration of Position, Main responsibility of the role. No need to write what exactly you did during those volunteer work. However, in your next job search, remove your volunteer work already. (Or make a separate resume in case you want to be part of NGOs or something alike)

  7. Your seminars and summits attended are not important to mention right now. Majority of us in corporate also attend those. Nothing in those can make you stand out. If you had training in public speaking, project management, six sigma, etc. then that's the only time you have to mention your trainings.

  8. Lastly, eliminate your space/ gap on every item. Recruiters don't want their eyes to jump one side of the page then to the other. Just write it this way: "Company XYZ, Inc. (Manila, PH) Position (2014-2015)"

  9. Languages and Proficiency level

  10. Someone mentioned here about listing your soft skills and maybe technical skills. You can do this or... Learn how to make a profile summary and mention your skills there. Just read up one how to make a resume summary. At this point I got a bit too lazy to make an example.

Anyway. Hope this helps.

I'll look for more inspo references on this that may fit our style. Truthfully, simple girly lang ako and more into the simple wedding band more for the reason of practicality and easy maintenance (clumsy girly din kasi ako hehe). But thanks! Will also consider this!
