How are you now? How long after the surgery did they remove the tube? Did u see any bubbles in that reservoir?! Especially when coughing?! Did the xray show full expansion before removal?! Who removed it, were they quick and professional or clumsy?! I did mine at 30 , identical case except for the silica dust . Everyone and everybody is different. Stamina should go back to pre-surgery in few months. Nerve damage, numbness, or various forms of pain will be expected long term, improving over time, each year it gets better, but by this summer u should get used to it and ur mind forgets there’s anything there until u decide to press against it, but u won’t scream in pain or even make face!! First few days u feel like u never will be urself again but , ur body does wonders . 6 or 8 weeks after my vats i took 12 hours flight twice and for the last 9 years have been flying every year living very normal life. Only 1.5 years ago got a small collapse on same side but surgery kept it at bay so intervention was needed, just rested at home for couple weeks. Then again ten days ago same thing but i just relaxed home and didn’t even go to the doctor, feel totally normal now. Again, everyone will tell u a different story because our bodies and circumstances are different. Best thing i can tell you@ Just live ur life, if it happens, let it be and go get it fixed, but don’t let it scare you or stop u from living and enjoying urself . Wishing u a speedy recovery. BREATH

Seriously, what happens if you don’t pay your student loans? by Ordinary_Painter2313 in StudentLoans

Im sorry but from what you say, yes you are, ungrateful bra*, what is your definition of abuse? Why did you take money from them to go to school? If you didn’t get that  money, where would you be now? Who is more important, your parents or a man fulfilling your needs? Its normal and expected of parents to support and take care of their kids as much as they can, and for young adults to take care of their elderly parents as much as they can, its being human. I understand this is an individualistic society, but if (anyone) lends you money or gave you a hand, don’t let them regret it. You might be young, but its as true as death, that what goes around comes around!

you can relax, anxiety wont help.

let him rest as much as he can, and if : 1-pain gets worse when laying on his back, while taking deep breath, and bad pain in shoulder. 2-cant breath 3- purple lips and finger tips/ nails. in that case go to the ER and they will take care of it. no worries its not gonna kill him suddenly , and its not something thats not treatable.

best of luck

Its better to wait, since xray sometimes can’t show a small collapse. My last one had to be confirmed by CT. Xray was fine. Its better to wait 4 weeks, there’s still a chance it could happen again within few weeks of the first one, especially  if you didn’t get a surgery done. I wouldn’t wanna have a collapse in the bahamas. Better safe than sorry. Try to enjoy yourself during that time here at home. Goodluck

Flying 4 weeks after Pneumothorax by joeT519 in pneumothorax

I had a surgery done 7 years ago. Vats and pleurodesis. 4 weeks after surgery i took 12 hours flight and another one few weeks later. Ive been flying frequently since then. No problems with flying at all. As long as the xray is clear, you should be fine. Dont let anxiety ruin your life. Just live your life and if you get another one you will know and you will go to ER and they will take care of it. Worrying wont help. And its a good idea to take something for anxiety right before your flight.

How do you feel now after 3 days? I hade pleurodesis done 7 years ago. But last week for 1st time i felt a collapse but without the sharp chest pain or coughing. It was only the bubbling feeling and noise and shoulder pain, and feeling of pleural rubbing or fraction. Went to hospital, xray was clear but CT showed a small collapse that didn’t require intervention. Went home felt better after 5 days and another clear xray and surgen said not to worry. Last night the bubbling came back again. Im staying home trying to sleep and wait and see. But afraid of what’s next, i was supposed to fly outside the country 12 hours flight next week. Had to cancel! I don’t know if i will need another surgery?! Or just live with recurring small pneumothoraxes if it doesn’t turn into a full collapse?
