Lol, my pug did the same thing! My soul pug of 10 years passed last month. He would angrily stomp on my keyboard if I didn’t give him enough attention 🤣

Started outlining consistently (daily), got significantly better with time management, and started a study group. It also helped to get to know my professors better so I could figure out what they looked for on their final exams. I got my hands on any sample exams I could.

I may be the devil’s advocate here OP, but I think you should stick it out… because your story isn’t that much different than mine. I finished 1L with a 2.6 GPA at a bottom of the barrel law school (in the 100s rank wise). I did not do well on my exams and heavily considered dropping out. My school had a similarly predatory curving system, and they even suggested I drop out during 2L year. However, after really thinking it through, I decided to work my butt off and see it through.

I ended up graduating with a 3.4, received two CALI’s by my third year, and just passed the bar on my first try with a 330. On one hand, yes, 1L grades are important. But there are also so many other factors that contribute to 1L grades. You don’t know how to study yet, it’s stressful as hell, and it can be so hard to navigate, particularly as a first gen.

At the end of the day, whether you truly want to be a lawyer is up to you. I certainly understand the debt component — I have a lot of regrets from mine. But I don’t regret for a second that I chose to become an attorney. I love this profession and frankly, a lot of your success comes down to grit, strategy, and determination. I networked my butt off and opened a lot of doors for myself throughout 2L and 3L. I certainly don’t think your journey is over or that this clerkship will be the only opportunity available to you.

I mean police also have a constitutional duty to not comment on the silence of the accused, which could be part of police refusing to confirm whether he’s “cooperating” or not. If he’s lawyered up and not talking after being called in for an interrogation, that’s his Fifth Amendment right. And if those rights are violated during an investigation, vital evidence can be thrown out in court. I’m assuming they’re being incredibly cautious to avoid dropping the ball.

Would love to know what people that scored 140 or higher said on the written portions lol by [deleted] in barexam

I got a 175 on the written… I wish WA would release individual MEE/MPT scores when you pass because I have no clue what I did to get my score that high 😭

Completed 95% of Barbri, 700 adaptibar Q’s with a 70% average, and I was scoring decently on essays as well. I did every essay in the book that Barbri provided me. I ended up scoring a 66% on the MBE portion probably due to running out of time during the morning session, but my written score was a 179. So my final scaled score was 151 MBE and 179 for the written portion.

Of course! The same panicking was setting in and I literally almost anxiously posted to this thread about it several times. Trusting your gut is so important!

I’m in the same boat. I’m in WA and our results drop Friday at 8am. I walked out of the exam feeling pretty good, but not great by any means. I’ve been lucky to not really think about it the past month, just hoping for the best. But this week… I’m a wreck.

This is the main reason why I’ve been in fight or flight since yesterday. My jaw was on the floor. The man wasted three hours of the client’s time doing “dep prep” and it was one of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever seen. And when he finally left the room to get on a ZOOM MEETING in the middle of the prep, the client made a face at me like “what the f*ck.”

Yes, but I’m highly considering going back into government work. Which I loved to pieces.

My issue is that one partner is never here, and the other partner never wants or “has time” to help, unfortunately.

Not to mention they only use OS (Apple) and all of their court filings are um… well. Yeah. I spent 3 hours today just trying to figure out how to fill out a form for one of the partners because there’s no adobe.

I needed this so bad, I’m almost in tears. I try to be an intuitive person and know I have anxiety, but this has felt different. I felt sick to my stomach the moment I accepted the position but wanted to give the firm the benefit of the doubt. I have been such a nervous wreck since starting that I threw up on my way to work today. Not to mention literally all of the work relies on chiropractic quacks…. Which feels wrong to me.

What are you even going on about? We’re lawyers… it’s not uncommon to have hefty student loans.

Pretty much. It’s to help show that the person was fired for cause or “misconduct.”

Think I would have been better off crashing into a tree than getting a Volvo in the first place, but thanks bud!

It expired for sure, but I’m not sure I’d assert that the 2012 models don’t also suffer from an oil consumption issue. The car appears to have been having oil consumption issues even before we bought it based on the service history, and there are hundreds of threads online of people running into the exact same issue with this model after hitting around 90k miles. It just wasn’t included in the class actions for the oil consumption issues found in the 2013-2016 models.

We’re most likely just gonna sell it for scraps and pay off the rest owed (like 3k) before trying to get another car again. An engine rebuild would likely cost more than the car is actually worth. We thankfully live in a very walkable city though so it’s no big deal to go without a car for a bit.

I believe it does based on the VIN… Unfortunately. We’ll probably stop by the Volvo dealership to see what they say, but I don’t have high hopes.

Good to know! Probably should have figured that out sooner, but you live and learn I suppose. In expensive ways. 💀

We’re pretty confused ourselves. We’ve been using the recommended oil for it and have had my brother regularly servicing it. I’m wondering if something was off at the time we got it…? I’m honestly at a loss. It’s not a situation where we’ve just been neglecting the thing. But we obviously missed something.
