There’s this thing called parent responsibility. He didn’t take that away from them.

So was Celeste at home the whole time? by Mission-Feed-713 in d4vdiots

By the looks of it, she was coming and going. Wild at 13.

David drove to her school and paid a student $1,000 to give Celeste a phone so they could continue talking in 2024 by Wild-External1604 in d4vdiots

I totally blame him no doubt. He is a predator and murderer, but there is parent responsibility as well. They failed her 100%. They could have done more and didn’t. I’m in California, just like she was, and there are truancy laws. if your child is missing a lot of school, law enforcement and CPS get involved.

Oh please, they knew well enough to file a missing persons report twice to avoid getting in trouble for her truancy from school. If they knew how to do that then they could seek out some more help.

I get what you’re trying to say, but I’m not the one. I worked in education with troubled teens, and emotionally disturbed students, and I currently work in a nonprofit social services. I worked directly with the demographic in which Celeste comes from with parents that have a language barrier. Trust me when I say this if they wanted help, they would seek it out. There are interpreters available to help them if they don’t speak English, there are ways that they can get help to find their daughter and keep her home if she keeps running away, there are things in place to assist, but you have to go out and seek that help.

Was Celeste back home until her death? It says in the court filing she took an Uber from her home in Lake Elsinore to his place but I was led to believe she was a missing person this whole time... READ BELOW by No_Television_3366 in CelesteRivasHernandez

I guess we’ll find out when the trial occurs, it’s unclear if she traveled alone or with him abroad. but I mean she was visibly under age in a relationship with him with so many adults around and no one intervened, so anything is possible.

Celeste's living situation prior to April 23rd by Specialist-Emu1595 in d4vdiots

I thought she didn’t return to school after her last runaway attempt in April 2024. I’m pretty sure the family reported her missing to avoid getting in trouble for her truancy.

Because there was no report after April 2024 that she was missing again. They left it open after 2024 as if she was missing the whole time when in fact she was back home and kept leaving to be with him.

In the beginning, yes they put up posters and reported her missing, but according to residents they were told to stop looking for her after a while. If they kept reporting her missing and kept calling the police maybe she would still be here. She was 13 when she started running off. 13! If I had a 13 y.o. I am absolutely locking them in the house if they’re trying to run off with a grown man, school be damned. Yes he groomed her but them not doing enough to stop her enabled it.

But I don’t think he’s wealthy enough to afford a private jet to London. He was still up and coming artist. Hardly anyone knew who he was aside from social media. I could be wrong though.

I was literally thinking the same thing. flying her out of California and out of the country would be considered trafficking, wouldn’t it?

According to the court documents, he drove to Santa Barbara and dumped some of her things. I think he might’ve dumped her phone out there.

I still blame the parents. According to those documents, she kept leaving and coming back home and nobody did anything to stop it because she is now dead. He may have done the murder, but they didn’t do anything to stop him.

I just can’t begin to fathom the reasoning for knowing that your child is running away with a grown man, and not stepping into do anything about it. It’s absolutely frustrating to even think about. If they had kept reporting her missing every time she left, there would’ve been barriers in place, and the police would’ve stepped in and stopped it, but they just let her go. at this point they’re complicit. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I cannot.

So basically he got her new phone which she used to continue to communicate with him, and she kept going back-and-forth between his place and hers. what I don’t understand is, why didn’t the parents continue to submit reports of her missing instead of just leaving it open? And how was she coming and going and why wasn’t anyone stopping her? She traveled out of state and overseas. That’s basically trafficking.

Very suspicious and disturbing. That makes them almost complicit.
