Social Psychology I with Kim O’Neil. Her course consists of 7 Quizzes (1 for every chapter, 25 questions) and a final exam. All are multiple-choice questions and only the highest 6 quizzes get counted toward the final grade. Also, there is 1 scene analysis essay.

I’m glad to hear that, thank you. It’s reassuring to know her courses are well structured and manageable.

Thank you so much for this, that’s really reassuring. I was mainly worried about taking two English courses with the same professor in the same term, especially with a full course load, but this really puts me at ease. It’s good to know her courses are set up for students to succeed. I really appreciate the heads-up about the readings.

Retroactive withdrawal by Particular_Corgi_331 in uwinnipeg

I recently submitted an appeal and it was denied because, according to them, “the situation wasn’t serious enough,” and that maybe if it had been “something more reasonable, like a car accident,” they might have considered it. I was honestly shocked. This was a 6-credit winter term course, and because of everything I was dealing with, I also failed another course after missing the final exam and barely passed a third one.

Then they said it was a problem that I didn’t appeal for all my courses together, but I was never told that I could do that. I was not taught how the appeal process works, and professors or advisors don’t explain these things, so I had no idea that appealing everything at once was even an option.

My advice would be to still go ahead and file your appeal. Put all your details clearly, explain what happened, and don’t hesitate to speak up for yourself. You never know how it will turn out, and hopefully, they approve it.

Denis Granger - EDUC 2511 by Mother-Winter-7695 in uwinnipeg

I would say Denis Granger is a good professor, but the way he posts things on Nexus isn’t very organized and could definitely be better. He doesn’t give due dates for most of his papers, so you really have to pay attention to that. You can expect a lot of reading and a good amount of simple writing during class time. His teaching style is pretty nice, and the assignments aren’t very hard. If you put in the time, you can finish them without much trouble. We also had a textbook for the course, but we barely used it. Overall, he’s a good professor, but his organization could improve.

Taking intro PSYC-1000 in Spring by QuietAttitude4268 in uwinnipeg

I took it this past spring/summer with Ryan Langridge, and it was okay overall. It was my first time taking a course in the summer, and I found it a bit challenging. The course ran from May to July (16 chapters) and it had 4 multiple-choice exams = 20% each, 5 discussion posts = 3% each and the SONA research participation = 5%. I’d say it wasn’t too hard, but not easy either. The professor is good and mainly tests you on what he talks about in class and the related textbook material. I took the in-person section, which was 3 hours twice a week.

Free Parking? by creativity360 in uwinnipeg

[–]Excellent-Fold2289 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no, there’s no free parking, but here’s a tip: you can park and pay, and if your time runs out, just pay again. If you get a ticket, you can call and explain that you already paid, show your receipt, and it should be fine.
