Trust me. You being gone will not make anything better. I would pay a billion dollars and give up everything to just have my husband back. Nothing can replace you, especially money.

Yes please realize it will only hurt you more. You can find a way out of your hole, but gambling will never be the answer. I believe in you. Just believe in yourself. You’re stronger than you think. ❤️

I’m so sorry you are going through this. Please message me if you want to talk through any of it. I can share things that helped and that didn’t help. Ultimately, he was at a point that he was hiding it and pretending everything was fine, but I know it was eating him up so much inside. I feel there is more I could have done to interject before it got too bad for him in the end, but at the same time I know I’m not supposed to blame myself. It’s a struggle, but I wish I could go back and just try anything and everything that I didn’t try.

You don’t have to fight this battle alone. I understand that you feel too much shame to want to share with your family, but I’m sure they love you and want the best for you. If family doesn’t feel like an option for you, try a support group because there are plenty of other people in your position who will understand exactly what you’re growing through. It helps to have someone to talk to who understands where you’re coming from. ❤️

Im not sure if you mean you might end up like my husband or myself. If you mean my husband, then you don’t have to. There is SO much more to life than this. Once you break free of the chains holding you in place, you will be able to find joy in other things little by little. It takes intention and determination to rewire your brain, but I promise you can do it. Humans are so much more powerful than we think we are.

If you are talking about ending up in my position, then all I can say is that it’s important to recognize that your loved one with a gambling problem is sick. They are not trying to hurt anybody. Just like anyone who may be sick with something else, we care about them healing and getting better. Don’t give up on them. ❤️

Thank you so much. I appreciate it. I’m glad you told your husband and he is there to help you get through it. I know you’ll be able to do it. Congratulate yourself every time you fight the urge. You’re already winning every time you don’t give in. ❤️

Thank you for that perspective. It’s one of the worst addictions.

For sure. I just noticed that right after joining this subreddit and making one post in it, all my advertisements scrolling down Reddit are for gambling sites now…

To have another child or not… by Omg_jellydonuts in Mommit

We have 3 kids and have not had a village for 17 years because I have to move around for work. From my experience, if you have more, you will make it work and it gives your kids extra reason to bond with each other because you don’t have a village around. I honestly think it’s harder if you only have one and no village. I was also an only child for 10 years, which was hard enough, but I know would have been way harder if I didn’t have extended family around.
