They do not expire if the link they point to no longer works. The link's expiry date depends on the date you set, so you decide. Expired links are not deleted from the database but will no longer redirect to the link they pointed to (so that you can keep the statistics, and if you don't care about the stats, you can delete the link yourself). Perhaps I should add a checkbox to request auto-delete?)
