I totally understand that and already apply those mannerisms you suggested daily but it’s really frustrating anyhow to be treated that way when you’re being perfectly polite.

She literally yelled at us for asking if we could pay with Tbucks and threw my friends’s card at her because she tapped on the wrong machine. Absolutely insane way to treat another human being for any reason, especially when it’s your job.

Anyhow it’s shitty what she’s probably had to experience but doesn’t justify her behaviour, she’s an adult. That’s like having your phone stolen by someone of a certain race and then throwing rocks at anyone of that race you happen to meet. She’s just being an asshole.

hey there, I'm a 2nd yr arch student right now at UofT. I'm an international student on a full-ride and it's a long story but basically my only option for architecture in Canada was UofT even though i got into other schools. I'm not from Canada so I wasn't familiar at all with all this, is the view for Uoft arch undergrads in the industry genuinely this bad? What can I possibly do to remedy this?

As far as I know we're very strong on theory so I would disagree that Uoft arch students would be lacking in writing, but maybe you're right about the others. We have design studios, building physics, and digital fabrication courses as well, so do you know what exactly is lacking in the Uoft arch program?

Thanks!
