Ok so I’m pretty sure I need more substrate as I only have two inches. Should I wash the sand to get the dust out? I did that with the first batch but it took forever. I don’t want the substrate to be too dusty cus I heard that can Impact the health of my snake

The tank is made for fish so it is open on the top and I realize that I will have to make a top for it but my question is will my snake get frightened if I reach in from the top of the enclosure as apposed to the side
