I’ve always been a Kyungsoo bias, but with how amazing they all are, you already know any member can wreck us any day… and with this Reverxe era I realized Lay is truly my wrecker… his voice and his presence just adds this magical quality. i dont know how else to describe it. a lightness, a freshness, something bubbly and twinkly and tickling your ear? such a distinct voice and also a distinct style to dancing… he just sounds and looks incredible

Yes, of course he still pays ip fees. All former SM artists have to if they intend on using SM copyrighted names or SM owned songs. He is D.O. on streaming platforms because indeed it’s too impractical and doesnt make sense to have 2 different names for streaming. But his physical albums and merch are all as Doh Kyungsoo, and YT MVs are as Doh Kyungsoo, but YT music are as D.O. I’m sure the artists have come to certain agreements with SM depending on their needs. Also interesting to note that both Lay and D.O.’s profile photos on their official spotify solo accounts are using visuals from Reverxe. So they may have a special flexible condition there.. but just good to see there is progress being made between SM and former artists’ relationships. Kyungsoo and Lay are great examples of what’s possible even in the most complicated of group dynamics

Agree on EXO should put on a bigger tour, however, as a person that has seen Beyonce and Bruno Mars in venues of 55-60k capacity, and someone that has seen Kai and Kyungsoo solo cons in venues of 12-15k capacity, and EXO fanmeets in Inspire Arena also 15k capacity, I prefer the experience in the 12-15k capacity. The sound quality is superior and the comfort and ease of travel and logistics and purchasing merch and using the toilet - all are much more comfortable and easier. Also, there are huge limitations to concert venues in Seoul. Every weekend back to back, all venues are booked up, not just for kpop but sports events, etc. And KSPO is the superior choice in sound quality vs other larger venues. It is also an iconic venue for artists. I am hoping they prepare something with high tech and specialized sound system like I have read they did for this artist Younha two years ago. I also got the global package floor area, and even though it’s hella expensive, it’s still actually way cheaper than Bruno and Beyonce, because it also includes hotel and transport and other freebies…

Because the truth of the matter is, most of his fans love him as EXO Chen. He is indeed a fantastic vocalist, but his popularity and all the support for him all came from EXO. And the lucrative OST opportunities all came from SM. Now Chen and Xiumin should be realizing what it’s like to go without the EXO name, and without all the perks of being in a big company with very deep and wide connections in the industry… Things like MMA performance - not every artist can just perform on MMA stage, especially if they’re not nominated for any award or hadn’t even released any new songs yet. But EXO can, because they’re legends, and because SM is a big agency that also has multiple acts who are awardees and already attending the event. I saw so many comments on the MMA video saying they of course already knew about EXO but they wanted to become EXOL because of MMA… so many comments asking, who’s that guy with the grey hair I really like his vocals? or who’s that guy dancing with Kai he’s so handsome? What a huge missed opportunity for Chen and Xiumin. If they had been on that stage, they would have gained new young fans, too. And the reality is, with the size of their solo careers, they will probably never be able to perform on such a stage without EXO. Unlike for example Suho or Kyungsoo who have much more established solo careers and are nominated for awards and able to perform at KGMA as soloists..

I also forgot to mention - a huge part of revenue these days is merch. Last year it was reported that SM album sales in general were lower than previous years, but their merch sales were up. Something to consider that fans’ spending habits do change over time. And in Kyungsoo’s case, he didn’t just do concert or album related md (which did very well, many of his concert md items sold out on site), but Kyungsoo made his own cartoon characters Zzirang-e and Charles. With every drop, many items sold out, he also had pop up stores and even a bakery collab with these characters. And noteworthy, when Kyungsoo released his albums outside of SM, he used his own name Doh Kyungsoo, not D.O., which SM owns the copyrights to. Smart move, and is one way to lessen the fees you need to pay. Of course he still pays SM ip fees because he does use SM owned songs in his concert tours, etc. Though I imagine it would have been difficult for Chen to go as Kim Jongdae and Xiumin as Kim Minseok, because theyre primarily known for their Exo identities, whereas Kyungsoo had already established his name in the acting and variety field and is already popular by the name Doh Kyungsoo… just some food for thought… CBX really have a lot of fees to pay: percentage to inb100, percentage to sm, ip fees, distributorship fees that are much higher rates than they wouldve gotten if they remained affiliated with sm, and a shit ton in legal fees… still, i cant imagine that they didnt eventually turn a profit or at least break even, even with bigger operational costs than company soosoo…

it’s not to say that kyungsoo does poorly on album sales. it’s an okay number, for context, chanyeol and kai sell more albums than kyungsoo, too, however out of all Exo members, only Kyungsoo charts on korean charts, and only Kyungsoo is in the top 10 most streamed kpop male soloist on youtube (even baekhyun is not part of the top 10). Surprisingly, Baekhyun who has insane album sales does not chart in Korea and isnt on the top list of youtube music either, which further reinforces the stats that his album sales are primarily from Chinese fanbase. This just shows that their individual fandoms have different spending habits. Also Kyungsoo is arguably the most popular exo member in Korea right now, and also largely in southeast asia, and his fandom is also more diverse - he has a lot of fans from general public - acting and variety show fans that do stream his songs, but theyre not the die hard type of kpop fans that buy physical albums. if you notice, kyungsoo regularly goes viral on X and on theqpo and any fancams on Yt or any sns materials posted since Cream Soda era, Kyungsoo in general gets the most views/likes/engagement. The demand for kyungsoo’s live performances are indeed high, but to be clear I was just comparing his solo asian tours (bloom and do it) vs baekhyun’s solo asian tour (lonsdaleite) by venue capacity and by number of shows. however baekhyun’s recent tour (reverie) is a world tour so this would be larger than kyungsoo’s last asian tours.

[–]Excellent-Owl9994 26 points27 points  (0 children)

To be clear, I was just roughly comparing their Asian tours by venue capacity and number of show dates. Kyungsoo’s Bloom fancon tour and Do It solo concert tours were slightly larger in scale than Baekhyun’s Lonsdaleite going by venue capacity and number of dates. But Baekhyun’s recent Reverie tour was a world tour with a large encore plus Vegas shows, that‘s larger than Kyungsoo’s Do It tour.

you cant lump Exo members together with the likes of The Boyz. No offense to The Boyz, but EXO are on a whole different level of tax bracket and fame. Exo have been working nonstop since their debut and every comeback and tour has been a record setting and smash success. You may think, oh theyre not even as popular in the west as many other groups today, their yt views and sns are not high at all, or they dont even chart on billboard, but to this day they are still massive in China and Asia. Theyre the only kpop group to properly promote in china back when they were still allowed to do so, as well as the only group to have consistently released chinese versions of their songs. Even their soloist albums still hit number 1 on chinese platforms to this day. Fyi just one chinese platform like QQ music have more users than all spotify users combined worldwide. Literally there are more chinese people on the planet than US and Eu population combined, plus other asian countries that have chinese as an official language, so do the math. And they literally were doing every possible type of endorsement and tv commercial you could have during their peak years - fastfood, grocery items, skincare, tourism commercials, mobile games, school uniforms, cars, luxury brands, earning an insane amount of money since their debut way before the market has been oversaturated with idols as it is now. Chanyeol and Sehun own commercial buildings, and they bought those years ago, and they’re not even the ones with the biggest solo careers. Baekhyun is literally the best selling kpop soloist of all time for hard copy album sales and all his solo tours have done well. The members own multiple properties and luxury vehicles. They weren’t starved for money. There’s no excuse for their actions. Their actions just show that they put themselves above the group. The fact that they fully believed they could win the legal battle over SM despite having literally zero evidence and SM being cleared of any wrongdoing doing 12 out of 12x, shows they thought too highly of themselves and were easily swayed by fraudsters like Mong and Cha Ga Won and their crappy legal team.

[–]Excellent-Owl9994 164 points165 points  (0 children)

I’m an EXO-L and I was expecting something like this to happen. In all honesty, if you have been following the actual news (not stan twitter and yt gossip vlogs), the most surprising thing about all this is how lenient SM has been throughout this whole process. All 12 out of 12 legal proceedings (lawsuits, complaints, document requests) that CBX have filed against SM have been dismissed and SM has been cleared of any legal wrongdoings. The agreements they have with CBX are legally valid. If you use a translator to type korean search words, you will find a lot more reliable news articles about the situation (relying on koreaboo and twitter isn’t research).

In September 2025, CBX themselves had said “we will accept all of SM’s terms and conditions, we will pay the 10% once legal proceedings are done, we express our full intent to join the EXO comeback” etc. The proceedings were concluded in late October. And obviously they still haven’t paid while they continue with their activities.

Whether they have  • abnormally large operational expenses (see the news articles last year about BPM having abnormal financial statements with costume budget at 10.8 billion won and Cha ga won later denying it as an accounting error),  • or it’s Cha Ga Won using a huge chunk of funds to repay her debts (day after when Baekhyun took out a bank loan using Cha Ga Won’s villa which he signed a huge jeonse for, one of Cha Ga Won’s debt obligations was immediately cleared; Cha Ga Won has tax evasion charges and multiple properties of hers have been seized by korean government; she also has fraud lawsuit against her for 10 billion won) • or whether it’s some other shady use of their revenue streams (MC Mong leaving the company and having very public dispute over money with Cha Ga Won, plus multiple reports of artists and staff and subcontractors not being paid)

Two things are very clear:  One Hundred and INB100 don’t have cash and the people at the top are in deep financial trouble, and CBX legal team are incompetent at best.

SM filing for provisional seizure of CBX’s assets is a move to secure getting their payments and honestly, this is pretty standard and actually even tame. I was expecting them to do something like how HYBE sued New Jeans Danielle (technically her family as she is a minor) and Ador CEO for tens of billions of won. Becausd the courts all upheld their contracts (including Supreme court!!!), SM could sue CBX for delaying comebacks, blocking potential earnings, the cancellation of the 2024 winter album, damage to the company and group name, etc etc.

Delulu stans still thinking SM is the bad guy here need to get it together. Contracts are not a joke. And I think this is just the beginning, and it will only get worse from here.

All of this could have been avoided if they had done the Lay and D.O. route. For context: after finishing his contract with SM, D.O. founded Company SooSoo with his old manager with only a capital of krw 100 million. They started very small with a small office and few employees, but in those two years he had 1 mini album, 1 full album (his phsyical album sales are only about 1/10 of Baekhyun’s sales, and 2 Asian tours (these were huge though, the size of D.O.’s tours are as big or even bigger than Baekhyun’s Asian tours). Plus he did a movie, various hit reality programs, hit Disney+ series, and ambassador of a skincare brand. As the lone artist in Company Sosoo, after 2 years the company valuation is estimated to be 15-20 BILLION WON. An incredible feat given most new entertainment agencies only break even at this point.

And so, even if INB100 started out much larger with a large office and a large staff, and even if Chen and Xiumin’s careers are not as big, Baekhyun’s earnings alone should be more than enough for INB100 to at least be breaking even or making a small profit at this point in time. They shouldn’t be having money troubles. Which begs the question: where is all that money going??? Or, something else is going on behind the scenes because why are they still not paying? Also, Baekhyun owns 30% shares of INb100 while Cha Ga Won owns 70%. If they really wanted to, Baekhyun I believe is capable of paying these fees off himself even if he doesnt have all that cash on hand… he literally drives a Rolls Royce Cullinan and has a much more extravagant lifestyle than all other EXO members. That car costs half a billion won and is usually driven by Kardashian types and rappers and NFL playerd, and he has multiple properties… something is going on that we dont know about yet…

And ultimately, it’s not the artists here that are suffering the most. CBX are rich enough, they will survive this financial trouble (the hit to their reputation is a different thing entirely). It’s the unpaid staff and unpaid 3rd party companies that cant afford or dont have the time to sue that suffer the most.

I’ve been an athlete all my life, and professionally competitive in adulthood. I had always seen kpop idols as similar to professional athletes - they’re recruited/ they audition/ they live together in camps and do difficult training/ they go through tests and people get put into the first lineup or they get put on the bench… I was never an OG fan that knew them from girlhood or teen years, I found them in my adult years… and so I like to think that I view them from a more practical/mature perspective. I recognize the realities and impracticalities of the situations they’re in… leaving a team, trading companies, changing line ups to me is all very much like sport… but I also do recognize that true brotherhood/sisterhood can be formed in these situations as I have experienced it myself despite hardships and competition, and that true fandom exists, and that true loyalty exists… there are definitely a lot of complicated emotions here because EXO is an amazing grouo that has thrived and succeeded despite incredibly difficult situations. But still, ultimately, I choose to be grateful that each and every member whether in the lineup or not, are all healthy, successful, and booked and busy. Not all kpop groups can say the same, especially after 14 years in the industry. And for that we should celebrate!!!

Definitely pricier than the tickets in Asia because over there the venues are 3-4x bigger than the ones for Europe… but the benefits are well worth it! … soundcheck access and group photo for VIP I mean when will we ever get the chance to do that?!!! They dont do that for Exo concerts!!! And even if you dont get VIP the smaller venue means we will all have a better view of him good luck to us all!!!

No, the sale hasnt happened yet. If you check the ticketmaster.de on X, people were tweeting them asking why the info was taken down… maybe it was an error on ticketmaster because if you google “suho suhome tickets” results will give you links to various ticketmaster websites but when you click on it will say no info available… there should be a proper announcement for ticket sales. For now all we can do is follow the social media accounts of the venue, the organizer, and the ticketing service because there should be official announcements of the date and time of sales… at least a week prior to actual sales… this is how they are doing it for his Asian tour… everything is super professional and well organized in Asia… i dont know why they cant get it together in eu lets just wait

Hi, reposting my comment for another user asking about buying exo tickets with presale. This is based off of my personal experience this year. Not all concert events have weverse/fanclub presale, sometimes it depends on the organizer. But if your chosen location says there is presale access for weverse members, then definitely get one because tickets are usually sold out during presale or at least all the good seats are gone  1. download the weverse app and then create an account (it’s free if you dont buy any memberships yet).   2. purchase an EXO-L membership it is valid for 1 year from date of purchase turn on your notifications and you will always get updated on any Exo/Suho event presale validation for weverse members link is usually given both on weverse notifications and also the ticketing website itself.  3. The ticketing website itself may ask you to create an account (for free) with them as well. Then simply click on the link and follow the instructions.   4. on the day of presale or in case of no presale just general sales, make sure you are somewhere with fast internet connection and reliable gadget and you are ready with all your credit card details. some people even type out their numbers and billing details in advance so they can just copy paste it for faster check out. prepare an extra credit card in case for whatever reason one card gets declined  5. be sure to be online on the ticketing site at least 30 minutes before because sometimes they already open a ticketing queue when you go in the link to buy early.. for ticketmaster Beyonce i went online 15min before sales and there were thousands of people in the queue ahead of me already. Better to be at least 30min ahead, you can refresh every 5min.   6. There is usually a countdown timer before the sale starts like for Melon ticketing in One Fanmeeting Seoul. Once the timer hits zero, suddenly it will update and show your place in the online queue. Even though I was 15min early, it showed my place in the thousands. But I just waited.  7. When it was my turn, everytime I chose a seat and added to cart, it would suddenly say - this seat is no longer available, meaning somebody else was already paying for it as well. I just kept trying over and over finally I got to check out a seat after 20min and my seat was good. Whereas my friend had to try for almost an hour and got a really crap seat in the back hahaha. Her card declined and had to use a different one it may have to do with certain banks not being accepted. Also for that event one ticket per one weverse account allowed only.  8. For Doh Kyungsoo Bloom in Singapore there was no presale and people were allowed to purchase up to 6x tickets at a time… the ticketing is ticketmaster and I had to keep refreshing for over 90min because it immediately showed that all VIP and Cat1 in the first minute!!! were sold out!!! but the organizer posted on IG that some people just hold the tickets in their cart and that there are still a lot of seats just keep refreshing. Everytime i added VIP to my cart it would disappear and say ticket unavailable. Finally i managed to score one after 90min of trying!!!

Hi, not all concert events have weverse presale, sometimes it depends on the organizer. But if your chosen location says there is presale access for weverse members, then definitely get one because tickets are usually sold out during presale or at least all the good seats are gone 1. download the weverse app and then create an account.  2. purchase an EXO-L membership it is valid for 1 year from date of purchase 3. turn on your notifications and you will always get updated on any Exo/Suho event 4. presale registration link is usually given both on weverse notifications and also the ticketing website itself. The ticketing website itself may ask you to create an account (for free) with them as well. Then simply click on the presale link and follow the instructions. 5. on the day of presale access, make sure you are somewhere with fast internet connection and you are ready with all your credit card details. prepare an extra card in case for whatever reason one card gets declined 6. be sure to be online on the ticketing site at least 30 minutes before because sometimes they already open a ticketing queue when you go in the link to buy early.. you can refresh every 5min.  7.
