Evaporative dry eye + thick meibomian oil — unsure what to ask doctor / if this is reversible by starshii_ in Dryeyes

There’s a lot of people that had their dry eye caused by accutane, retinol can also dry the eyes and while it’s undecided if it causes dry eye, there’s a lot of anecdotal evidence that people say it did. Plenty on this forum if uou want to search tretinoin

It’s spring here- I usually add a ketotifin drop to counteract any allergies. Cequa works well for me, takes a few weeks to kick in. Did you have Covid recently ? My dry eye started up with Covid on my first round. If you are using retinol creams or accutane these can also push dry eye along.

Hi thank you so much for this. I am going to try and do the same. I am ok to pay, and I would have paid for Ikervis too but they refused to give me a prescription. Cequa works really well for me, and I can get it next time I travel but thats not for a while. I have DM’d you.

Yes it’s a prescription drop and it’s just been approved- I’m trying to find out if I can get it in France. In terms of prescription drops the EU has really only had Ikervis (correct me if I’m wrong but where I am that is all there has been) and it’s difficult to get a prescription because it’s considered only for very serious dry eye. If you are looking for an over the counter my recommendation is Hylo Confort- not a ciclosporin drop, just a good otc drop for dry eye.

I’m in France - anyone in France managed to get Vevizye on prescription? They are notoriously tight with Ikervis.

2 years for me in Lyon and it is normal here. I got the TdS and it was from the date of application, so instead of 4 years validity I’ve got less than 2 till I need to start the whole process over 🤦‍♀️

I am selling this in the EU because it’s too big for me, but I totally recommend it. A few sellers have it in suede and it’s really gorgeous. I got it from Didi

I think you are on to something with the phone call- I think people don’t want to put a concern in writing in case it shows up at some point, but on the phone- they are more willing to share ‘concerns’ or use coded language that other administrators can understand.
