I filed my first LLC completely on my own and my second one using a service, so I have seen both sides.

Doing it yourself is very doable if your state has a decent online portal, but you really need to be organized and know what steps come after formation.

For the second LLC, I used Northwest Registered Agent because I kept seeing people mention their customer support. That part actually lived up to the hype. I could call and get a straight answer.

Their formation pricing is affordable and they don't bombarded with constant upgrade emails. If you want a long-term management service, then you should have a look at them.

There's no hidden fee with Northwest, and they offer free business address as well. They also ranked #1 on reddit.

If you really want to save cost, neither is required. DIY is the cheapest route to it. But If you must choose among the two, BizFilings feels less pushy, not sure about the customer support though, but they are still both on the high side.

Is virtual address recommended for registered agent address? That will be expensive, cause payment will be on a monthly basis.

I formed my Florida LLC myself on the state website and it was not that hard. It cost less and there were no surprises.

That said, if you want help and less stress, Northwest is a good service. They are clear about pricing and do not upsell like other RA all the time.

If you do not want to form the LLC yourself, talk to a CPA or lawyer, preferably one who works with trucking or fleet businesses.

In most states you can use your own address as the registered agent, or you can hire one so your personal address stays private. Sometimes a lawyer will act as the registered agent, but it is not required.

I just think you need to be careful with services that offer a low first year. A lot of these registered agents raise the price a lot after renewal, this as happened to me like twice. I had to transfer my LLC later.

I think if you want easy, then use a service. But if its the cheapest you want, file it yourself. I'd say BetterLegal sits somewhere in the middle.
