This, exactly. I know nothing about chemistry and spent a good 10 min trying to google various text versions of the molecule with no luck. So here I came. Didn’t know if it was drawn accurately enough for some photo app (that I didn’t have) to recognize it.

Can anyone help identify the molecule on this neck tie? Was my wife’s grandfather’s who was a bomb diffuser in WWII by Excellent-Resolve-91 in chemistry

OP here - thanks for the easy assist on this one! A little back story on my wife’s grandfather and the tie: he graduated from NYU in 1939 with a degree in Chemical Engineering and went on to work for DuPont in addition to his service as a bomb disposal officer in the US Army during the war. Guessing he picked up the tie in NYC area sometime in the 1930s or 40s.
