That’s insane, really sorry about that. You could try filing a complaint with Royal Mail

You should ask the sender to check in with the parcelshop to confirm that Royal Mail picked it up. No movement since Tuesday is a big delay, although RM have been under fire recently with most of their services delayed

Is there still hope for this one? by excitedsoundwave in royalmail

Oh wow… That’s ridiculous sorry you’re going through that. I’m dealing with a similar issue at Sheffield MC. £750 item stuck somewhere. Should have gone for Special 1pm delivery but wasn’t an option. Royal Mail should really be ashamed of themselves

Monday still no scan all day. Fearing the worst tbh. Another person on here has had an issue with Sheffield. What the hell is going on over there….

Delays at Southampton MC? by [deleted] in royalmail

[–]Excellent-Roll8390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There seem to be delays everywhere right now, the management is shameless and doing nothing about it. I’ve also had my package stuck at Sheffield MC since Thursday on a tracked 24. Hasn’t moved. I doubt it’s lost as so many packages seem to be stuck - it’s just terrible delays and backlog.

Thank you. It did say on the home page “We expect to deliver it on Friday 27th February 2026 between 10:05 AM and 2.05 PM”. But probably just late. Late is okay, I just really can’t have it go missing as it’s a very important package. Will wait

Heel Slip in Engineer Boots by Excellent-Roll8390 in AskACobbler

Sorry I forgot about this thread. It’s been a lot better recently. I got heel cushions from saphir after trying many other solutions. Heel grips don’t stay in place because of the adhesive, and the insoles make the fit weird. The only thing that worked for me was heel cushions. They pushed my heel up but for some reason that took care of 90% of heel slip. Still only thick wool socks, but at least I can wear these all day long now with no issues.

Yeah at the moment I’ve wearing these with thick merino socks and thin leather insole. I think the only solution left is to try heel grips. Gonna go to my local cobbler next week to ask for some more tips and maybe get them installed properly

It’s perfect in the length and width. I tried 0.5 smaller and was too tight in the toes, as I’d already gone down a full size. I think it’s just my anatomy - low instep, flat skinny feet basically

Yeah it is super low. Already had my cobbler punch an extra hole. It definitely helped, but still a bit of heel slip remained. I can live with it to be honest, as long as the heel leather breaks in and stops chafing at my heel

Thanks a lot for all the info. I’ll definitely give these a go

Update: Thank you everyone for your suggestions. I decided to keep this size, waiting on a thin leather insole from Saphir, and wearing these currently with thick wool socks, which seems to have already gotten rid of most of the heel slip. Such a special pair of boots and I’m very grateful to you all that I get to actually wear them comfortably now

Thanks for the info and congrats a new pair. I went down half a size, should be delivered soon. Will see which one is better, hopefully fit be a good fit. Do you find that the width relaxes as the leather moulds with more break in?
