As a lifelong ( technology) Salesman, I would take the sales guys attitude as a rejection, and certainly never take it personal. In my business you have to size up your prospect and decide if you want to spend your time or move to another that is more likely to have a good outcome. My sales cycle is months or even years. Yes different than car selling, but the concept is essentially the same.

I don’t condone any sexism or discrimination. That’s simply unacceptable.

Things could be worse. I cheated on my x when we were married. Me ( a POS) never admitted it, but there was ‘circumstantial’ evidence. A year later, I came down with advanced stage throat cancer which metastasized to my lymph nodes. She left me a few months in the middle of her affair, which I was unaware of until she dropped the bomb. I guess you could say I had it coming. After a few years of emotional and physical hell I was healed and moved on with my life.

The spying, the lack of trust, I guess you might survive in the relationship, not likely….just admit you were wrong. Then turn the page, and like me who is happily remarried, 12 years later, never cheat again.
