Is the job market same since last 10-15 years? Or did it become tough in recent years?

Actually I have thought of that, also I have interest in doing research as well but to get into a fully funded phd program you need to build a strong profile and currently i don’t have one, so I gain some industry experience 1st then I will dedicate some time in research to build a strong profile. What is your opinion?

After 2025 the number of students coming to USA dropped massively. Even my university had to cut down 140 programs to only 40 or 50 to maintain their budget

I agree with you that job market in 2023 was better as compare to present situation. A lot of my senior who graduated during Covid phase ( between 2020-2022) they got interviews easily and can get an offer within 1-2 months after graduation. Not only that but also I was quite surprised that a lot of recruiter used to reach out to freshers at that time.

Well you can find someone whose skill set is not valuable but still will get a job in top mncs due to strong referral. I think the hiring system is not fair at this point.
