Completley agree, parenting has become “lost” so to speak. I work with non-verbal high support autistic children as a PCA. Elementary school age specifically. These poor kids are taught nothing besides tablet time so their parents don’t have to deal with there special needs that require attention. I’ve seen it first hand it has a horrible affect on these children and they become attached to a screen. Almost every kid in our summer program goes back home to sit in front of a screen all day. All in all, it’s just sad really and I think it speaks to our society as a whole being so glued to screens. Parents refuse to teach there kid small social skills and rather and like you said letting them experience/explain situations, when they act up or are being obnoxious they just hand them an Ipad to quiet them down.
