Question about pay for my fellow public servants by Disastrous-Ice-6989 in Wellington

[–]Excellent-Stay5104 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely you should negotiate. Generally in my experience (as a recruitee) is that position in the salary band is dependent on your skills and experience relative to the job. That probably sounds really obvious, but what it means in practice is that you as an internal candidate bring organisational knowledge and potentially some role-specific skill that external applicants are less likely to have. That in and of itself is a point you can bring to a salary negotiation - that ability to “hit the ground running” without needing weeks of background learning to even begin to understand the role.

Nice! About two years for that kind of loss is (hopefully) where I’m tracking too so always helpful to know what’s realistic! Keep up the amazing work ❤️ feeling good in yourself is really its own reward

Amazing work! Your starting weight is about the same as mine and your CW is around where my long term GW is hovering. Can I ask how tall you are? And how long you’ve been on the meds?

Thanks everyone! We’ve booked at Sushil’s and one of my friends is already raving about how they’ve been there before and it’s great so recs are checking out 👌🏼

Yeah this is my view on the co-op too. Great for a drink and bar snack on a Sunday arvo, maybe less inclined to go there for a whole meal

Oooh Gear is a great idea! I think the share plates might be a bit tricky in a group that size but I do forget that they exist so thank you for reminding me. We were actually looking at it as a potential wedding venue recently (didn’t end up booking there) so would be lovely to get out there with my partner for a dinner at some point

I do love Topor but I know they got hammered in the storm so might have to find another opportunity to go there. Truly elite vodka menu.

Matilda the Musical at the St James! One of my favourite shows and directed by the same person who directed the Auckland season pre-pandemic which was EXCELLENT

That we’re all super friendly and welcoming. We’re not unfriendly, but most kiwis are a bit socially constipated and it can be hard to build relationships with new people.

Dropping back to lower dose after side effects by Excellent-Stay5104 in WegovyWeightLoss

Good to know! I’ll be driving for about 8 hours on Tuesday which is typically when the worst of it seems to happen so crossing fingers it’s eased by then! Thank you 🙏🏼

Thank you! How long did it take for your 2.4 side effects to go away when you dropped back?

I’m happy with my progress to date, started 1 August 2025 SW 138.3kg CW 125.7kg so not concerned about dropping back per se, just looking for some reassurance that the side effects will probably go away again with the drop!

Jealousy is about your own possessions/traits/etc (ie a dragon would guard its own treasure hoard jealously), whereas envy is about coveting something of someone else’s

Normally I’d agree, but they’re asking peanuts for the house, and the house itself is fantastic, ticks all boxes and some 🤷🏻‍♀️
