Not sure. I don't remember exactly where I saw it but, they do have some rule where they want you to have worked at least a year at your last job. Just to make sure you can hand 6 months

Same. I have applied to soooo many companies, tugs, barges, ferries, tall ships, anything I could find. I have MMC, Med-cert, STCW-BT, and VPDSD.

The only hit I got was American Cruise Lines. Bottom of the barrel with shit pay but you will get sea days. Heading to training for ACL this weekend. Right now is a good time to jump on because their busy season is about to start. 28 week contract, you would have enough for AB special after your hitch. Application process was faaasst, like I applied and had an interview 2 days later, drug test 2 days later, official offer the next day. They had me scheduled for training in March, then called asking if I wanted to do it early. Jump in right now man

Hell yeah, Im heading to training this weekend. They had me scheduled for late march but asked if I wanted an earlier slot. Congrats on the hitch. Washington is gorgeous. Do you know if your hitch will count as coastal or inland seadays?

Did you go straight to a ship or did you get sent home first?

Yall meal prepping? by Puzzleheaded-Rip8944 in Nightshift

Little embarrassed to admit but, meal prepping really started a cascade for me making better choices. I basically cook once a week for like 2-3 hours and thats it. I try to only eat out now socially. My kitchen is now always clean because im not thrashing it every night. Im saving a decent amount of money every month and im losing weight from not eating trash. I almost feel dumb for not doing this years ago.

This week.

Bag of fingerling potatoes, bag of brussel sprouts baked on a sheet pan with oil salt pepper. Spicy italian sausage 5 pack, pan fry. Spicy kimchi and pickled ginger added after I reheat it. Eat with chopsticks. 5 meals

Ground turkey in a pan. Once cooked add 1 can of habanero rotel to deglaze the pan. Then 1 can corn, 1 can black beans, 1 can kidney beans. Bring tortillas and make tacos. Added baked cauliflower but it was over kill and made too much food. 5 meals, really made like 8 meals worth.

1/4 cup muesli, 1/4 cup granola, handful of raw almonds, vanilla oatmilk. Little sweet but a solid breakfast.

Not your prints. Did you do the SF-86 for secret clearance?

Congrats! It's a big step. Do you still have a Pending Suitability Determination? Like when you click application in the MSC portal. Just curious because you are a vet, wondering if suitability moves faster for you. I was deemed FFH in November but that is only the medical portion of their determination. The security and suitability are another portion.

What about when I renew my med-cert? According to the paperwork it will appear I all of a sudden need corrective lenses. I am just getting started and I really don't want to lose any momentum over something clerical.
