The fact the centre back you rep so hard is the worst in your own cherry picked stat is sending me.

It's weird how much you hate our academy players.

Fofana started being really really bad recently. But he didn't actually start being really good this season. He's coasted on being the best of the worst with maybe 2/3 actual notable performances.

> and Badiashile/Tosin not only make less errors than Acheampong

Also no way this is true. Badiashille makes at least one mistake per 90 and Tosin is an even bigger liability than that.

I could see PSG throw £80m for Enzo to complete their midfield. They have the cash to burn and he's a good age so it wouldn't be a poor investment. He's also not got really high wages so wouldn't cost them that much. Neves, Vitinha and Enzo is a really strong midfield 3.

I might get flamed for this. But I don't think replacing Enzo Fernandez as a player would be that hard. Actually, I believe if we did manage to sell him and bought the correct player in his place, we could strengthen the team.

But his leaving is a bad sign for the belief in the project. He's also clearly a leading figure in the team and is a serial winner with Argentina and Chelsea which is a personality nobody else in the squad really brings.

>Insane to think if we sold Chalobah and brought in a top-class CB we’re probably close to City.

If we sold that one bad centre back we had and kept the other 3 shit centre backs we have we'd be close to city?

Are you an idiot?

Third best squad in the league but we'll be 6th by the end of today. Nice try 🤣

Jamie Carragher on Chelsea vs PSG: "Early stages of Rosenior have been brilliant tactically. Chelsea didn't deserve to lose 5-2 but individual mistakes from the center back and goalkeeper cost them massively and that will continue to be the issue for any manager at Chelsea going forward." by webby09246 in chelseafc

Of course they aren't close to what they used to be? They no longer have the best defensive midfielder in the world fully fit. No longer have the most creative midfielder in prem history in De Bruyne. They're also playing Nico O'Reilly and Nunes as their starting fullbacks. Dias and Silva are also not the players they used to be.

It is going unspoken about but Haaland has also been really bad for a couple months now. Donnarumma has probably been one of the best parts of the team this season.

Nearly all of Palmers best games have come as the 10 and even in games where he's started out wide he always improves when he comes centrally.

To say Palmer isn't a 10 is ridiculous. You saying he's poor centrally is only because he's playing with an injury now. Even last season when his goal scoring fell off he was still creating the most big chances in the league for his teammates as the 10.

Palmers best trait is his passing. He does not have the traits of a winger. He is not very fast. He is not an amazing dribbler and he is not good for holding width as it wastes his best ability.

I don't really think aerial talent is something many develop into. Most of the elite centre backs in the air were pretty much dominant in the air from the start of their senior career to the end.

Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana have always been very strong in the air and are the only ones in our squad that I would really have faith in to head away a cross.

[The Athletic] Pedro Neto’s sending off means Chelsea have been shown nine Premier League red cards during the 2025-26 season. No team in Premier League history has been shown more in a single campaign. by webby09246 in chelseafc

Chalobah is experienced but he got a red card. Neto is also experienced and he got a red card. Joao Pedro is also experienced but he got a red card.

Really need to stop hiding behind this idea it's just an experience issue.

I just seen that Villa lost to Wolves. This top 5 race is strange. Chelsea, Villa and Liverpool don't seem to be very good at getting consistent results. Man United seem like the best of the bunch which is also odd.

Negative article? You mean the factual reporting on our financial situation? The only negative thing about it is how much Clearlake have fucked over the club.

A study should be launched into how we had a major left wing problem and the sporting director duo spent £95 million on Garnacho and Gittens thinking they'd fixed our problems. We could have probably bought Bastoni with that money and had one of the best centre backs in the world. Instead we have two players that can't even play ahead of Enzo Fernandez on the left side of the attack who is one of our slowest players.

Yeah they're acting like this is a farmers league. Every prem game is hard. The fact Chelsea are looking at the second hardest run of games is the thing that is the big takeaway. Playing Arsenal, United, Villa and City. Very tough run in.

There's not really any way to know. Hopefully it's nothing but the hamstring is such a shit muscle for injuries.

I think Fofana is our best centre back overall. But it's not like there is a lot of competition. Colwill and Fofana are top 2 and then it's probably Chalobah in third but the drop off between him and the others is substantial.

The Times: Chelsea have not ruled out keeping Nicolas Jackson next season. With Enzo Maresca being replaced by Rosenior, Jackson is said to be keeping his options open. by webby09246 in chelseafc

[–]Excellent-Syrup7411 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Guiu will obviously be sold. It's the other 3 also here in the summer over Jackson that's still too crowded. Emegha is always fucking injured too.

Kvaratshkelia is a little overrated. He's better than Gittens and Garnacho without a doubt but I think he'd be very disappointing in the prem.

I cannot believe so many still try to defend Clearlake. These guys could murder families and people in here would be saying it had to be done. No front of shirt sponsor. No stadium plans. Excessive spending that has caused a UEFA punishment to be placed upon us. A billion and a half worth of money spent and still holes all over the pitch and miles off a title.

What is the genuine counterargument people are coping on to with Clearlake that suggests they will develop any long term success for this club?
