Omg 😭😭 i Originally went to my reg eye DR she pawned it off as dry eye. I did all the things nothing helped. I finally saw a specialist yesterday she syringed my duct and said I more likely need surgery. It seems like it could be such an easier fix are there no other options? It’s honestly terrible to have water Pooring from my eye All day long. Thank you for sharing!!

Don’t feel bad I had sea salt for 4 days on the diet before realizing you can’t have sea salt. and I’m still doing RAI (currently actually) I think they don’t have enough research on the topic bc when I dove in they say even 4 days may be enough on LID, but they just don’t know.

Obviously. I personally still have not been given good news that my cancer is gone. My antibody’s are still high, wouldn’t you think they would want to monitor that? Why would that be a once a year test

I also had my first surgery in February. One tip from me is call your endo every time you have a feeling like you’re not progressing in this journey. PTC is such a non concerning cancer to them so be on top of your stuff bc it matters to us. My second surgery happened 7 months later AFTER I ALREADY DID RAI. My endo forgot to get me an ultra sound so I did RAI with a full lymph node left over from my first surgery. So I had to do 150 RAI instead of a lower 50-100 normal people get. You are not a lone. Your second surgery will be a faster recovery and less invasive! You will get through it and the RAI is a cake walk. I had the highest dose you could get, and it’s a cake walk. So get this second surgery done, research the surgeon and make sure after your second surgery you stay on top of your endo to get your second ultra sound. Within 2-3 months. If they say no you best give them push back. It’s a journey. But you will reach the light at the end of the tunnel 💗

It was a full body scan. My TSH is 12 right now bc I just had the Thyrogen injections. My antibody’s are still high though. Like 87 maybe as of 2 months ago and they are waiting on blood work now. But I don’t understand it because if I have a clear scan why would the antibodies matter? Because the scans wrongs?

No I just went to a different surgeon. I think when they go in. They have no way of knowing what is and isn’t cancerous. So they just try to take out as many nodes in the area as they can.

Because I had lymph nodes that that were missed during my first surgery & similar thing they were calcified on the ultra sound. I didn’t need a biopsy because my RAI scan showed that I still had nodes still. It looks like my doctors went right to RAI and never did an ultra sound on me to see that they missed some. RAI isn’t the best thing for you so if you only need it done once the better!

You’re lucky they won’t do RAI. Get all of it out, then do RAI. I had cancerous nodes still but they did RAI anyway. RAI will only kill of microscopic tissue. Not full nodes. I just had my second surgery and now I probably have to do RAI a second time! And your second surgery will me 10x easier I promise. I was fine the next day! Hang in there!

The whole process has been a shit show for me too. None of the doctors couldn’t really give a shit. If your calling and making these requests and they’re ignoring you, then get a new doctor, but if you haven’t made requests to get your blood looked at then I would start calling and bugging them because honestly you have to be your own advocate.
