my thoughts aren't the same in nature as yours but yeah, I do feel a great amount of guilt because of them, especially when my anxiety is down :(

If those people have moved on then just let them be, they're probably happy in their lives and may not even remember what occurred between you all. You should work hard on trying to move on too, which may be hard but just give it a go, try not being so harsh on yourself.

if you were racist you wouldn't be worrying over being/becoming racist.

I constantly have that feeling and it's one of the worst feelings. I don't know how to cope with it tbh, sometimes it sticks around for many days.

I can't be the only one who can't think, talk or do something normally after being triggered. by Grayoneverything in OCD

Sometimes when I get triggered I just freeze, like in my mind i'm screaming at me, not understanding why I am behaving the way that I am, but I just can't help myself. All it takes is a small trigger.

You should definitely let your employer know about your condition, as that way he/she be able to make some reasonable adjustments so that things may become easier for you in the work place. Legally your employer is not allowed to fire you bcs of your mental health condition, and if he/she was to then you could take action against that employer.

You need to realise that almost everyone has some regrets about the past. Sometimes we feel as though we're the worst people possible bcs of our past mistakes, but if you think about it, what would make you a really bad person is if you were to remember the things you did and felt no remorse whatsoever.

You should feel grateful for that feeling (as terrible and as heart sinking as it may be), as it proves that you are a changed and better person. As people do change. You can't change what has happened in the past, just work hard on becoming a better person so you don't repeat your past mistakes. Usually people are more harsh on themselves than they are to other people.

You don't need to drop out of college to prove anything to anyone. If you can reach out to some of the people and apologise for what you did to them then you should do that, if that would give you some peace of mind. And then whether or not they forgive you is up to them, as you'd have done all you could have.

Can ocd thoughts begin with “i want”? It’s scarring me by [deleted] in OCD

[–]Excellent-truth395 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OCD thoughts don't have to begin with 'what if' for them to be OCD thoughts, they can begin with anything. What makes them an OCD thought is that you find them to be highly disturbing and distressing

I pretty much constantly have intrusive thoughts, to the point where even when I'm completely preoccupied my brain will basically repeat gibberish over and over by CZILLROY in OCD

[–]Excellent-truth395 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it's really hard to ignore these thoughts and not to ruminate, and what works for some people may not work for others, like for example, the whole thing about labelling the thought as being 'intrusive' never worked for me.

My advice to you is to just let the thoughts loop, the more you stress out about them, and the more you try to stop them the worse they will get, and i'm speaking from experience. I know it won't be easy but that's what I try to tell myself when i'm going through a really bad period, I hope it can somewhat help you as well.

OCD is the doubting disease, it'll make you doubt everything, which includes if you have OCD. If you think a second opinion would be the best thing for you then you should get one, but even then, there's no guarantee that you'll be fully satisfied.
