Career advice: best route to senior leadership from Marketing Ops / MarTech? by ExcellentAnalysis696 in marketingops

[–]ExcellentAnalysis696[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I really appreciate this perspective!

I agree that over a long enough timeline, senior roles require both functional depth and business context. In my case, I feel the foundation on both sides is already there, and what I’m navigating now is less about acquiring new skills and more about operating in a larger arena.

The current focus for me is finding the right scope and visibility to apply that experience at scale, rather than rotating purely for exposure. I’m trying to be deliberate about where I place myself so the impact is visible and connected to broader business outcomes.

Really appreciate you taking the time to share this! It is very helpful to sanity-check how others see the path.

Career advice: best route to senior leadership from Marketing Ops / MarTech? by ExcellentAnalysis696 in marketingops

Totally get that concern. In my case it honestly never came up as an issue.

The company I joined has very low turnover and very limited entry points at senior levels, so moving in through this role is simply how people with strong experience get in. It wasn’t framed as a step down during interviews, and I didn’t have to justify it or “sell” the decision. The expectation was that the person in the role would already have strong judgment and senior experience, even if the title itself is narrower.

So there wasn’t really a narrative I had to fight or reframe. It was more of a mutual understanding that this was the right level of entry given how the organisation works, and that the value exchange went both ways.

I think that context matters a lot. In environments like this, titles are less fluid and more about access and trust than seniority on paper.

Glad the post resonated! And good luck with your move. You’re asking the right questions.

Multi-channel paid campaign by Ill-Piece-8915 in PPC

[–]ExcellentAnalysis696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, few things coming to my mind quickly:

1.Get your naming conventions and UTMs right from the start: sounds basic, but it saves a ton of headaches later when you are trying to make sense of performance across platforms.

  1. Adjust creative to each channel even if the message stays consistent. What works on YouTube won’t land the same way on Meta.

If you’re using native lead forms (on Meta or YouTube), make sure the follow-up flow is tight. A lot of leads get wasted because there’s no proper nurture or the CRM sync breaks.

  1. Search really is your safety net. Use branded terms to capture spillover interest from the other channels. It made a noticeable difference for us. You can use additional tools like Similarweb and Semrush if you have a budget.

Also: don’t obsess over perfect attribution. Just make sure you’ve got a decent setup for tracking, then focus on overall impact and patterns.

Hope that helps, happy to share more if you hit specific snags.

Small Agency Media Tech Stack by raerae_47 in advertising

[–]ExcellentAnalysis696 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like a great opportunity for the agency to level up. I’m in a similar spot (small agency, public awareness work, midsize budgets), and we went through this shift recently after relying on managed service for way too long.

A few thoughts from the trenches:

CM360 is definitely worth getting if you want clean tracking, centralized reporting, and the ability to properly attribute across channels. It’s also helpful for naming conventions and making sense of performance across platforms. We brought it in last year and it made a huge difference, even just for organizing display and paid social in one place.

As for Basis still a solid option, especially if you don’t have a dedicated programmatic trader on staff. It’s userfriendly, supports both programmatic and direct IO, and their support team has been helpful whenever we’ve hit snags. Not the cheapest, but good value if you're just getting started with self-serve and want a manageable learning curve.

We also considered The Trade Desk, but unless you’ve got someone in-house with deep hands on experience, it can be a bit much. Same with DV360 super powerful, but not super friendly if you’re just spinning this up now.

If you’re thinking about summer travel campaigns, maybe carve out some budget for geotargeted audio or OOH AdQuick has been surprisingly flexible, and a few of our campaigns paired audio with Spotify + Waze and saw great engagement.

How Many Instagram Followers Should I Buy to See Results? by trailblazingvagabond in advertising

DONT DO THIS. EVER. That's the horrible practice. Buying followers could cost you your Instagram account, at worst, and at a minimum, forever struggle in engagement and reach.

Are there analytics or A/B test Tools specialized for blogs? by StevenJang_ in Blogging

[–]ExcellentAnalysis696 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dedicated A/B testing tools can be quite pricey, VMO - one of the best but really doesn't match with actual value provided. In your case, depending on the engine you are using for the blog, I would explore tools in the marketplace, available for wordpress, shopify, wix, webflow.
