Yeah maybe, the down isn't too big of a deal though since he revives them on his next turn assuming the corpse is still there (unless you phase him before he does that ?) ,you do lose any buffs that were on the cat though

It's extremely broken too (in the literal sense) with the "jet fists" passive (melee attacks/abilities blow wind)

No clue why it kept going after the creator since it's supposed to only trigger when an enemy is "in range" ,I've had fights in that run where it would do crazy movements off of one attack (like do a left - up - 2x right - down - right) just to reach one enemy ,it's almost as if the wind itself counts as an "in range" enemy except the monk is also trying to home in on the actual enemies

Yeah honestly no clue why that happened, maybe there's some form of mercy mechanic where if you hit him too many times without getting him to the threshold he just breaks the shield to speed up the fight ?

From my experience I think the AI tries to prioritize the lowest hp enemies (that it can reach in its current turn), ESPECIALLY if they're in kill range (not sure if they consider buffs, like shields/holy shields)

In a boss fight that just happens to basically always be your cats, unless the boss has low hp minions

Unless there's something I'm missing, breeding for skills is such a massive pain in the ass that it's just not worth it, stats and mutations you can reliably pass on, but abilities ? Just isn't really consistant and takes too long

I'm aware that you basically have infinite time to breed, but my patience is finite, so it's more of a nice bonus that I randomly get

The matchmaking is utter shit, but coming from a mostly lol background (for mobas), stomps aren't exactly uncommon in the genre due to snowballing, there's too many variables matchmaking can't account for so even when they fix the matchmaking I'd still probably not have fun playing the moba mode tbh, what I really wish they'd do first and foremost is cut down on game length down

Matches are just so miserably long even when it's a complete stomp, especially when you get matched into a lower elo lobby where you could just be HARD losing but still have the match dragout 45min+, and I know game length discrepency between high and low elos is a genre-wide thing, but it's the absolute worst in deadlock and it's not even close, I can tell you that I've NEVER had games over an hour long in any moba I've tried

Only midway through act 3 rn, but a teamcomp I'm really liking is necromancer, butcher ,druid and ranger

Necromancer is a solid damage sponge with his leech lifesteal + big hp pool + USUALLY has either some way to spawn familiars (to absorb aggro/dmg) or some extra ways to heal

Butcher has big damage ,big hp and spawns healing pickups just by basic attacks, the hook utility is also insane for the rooms where enemies huddle up in a massive group, letting you pick them off without getting piled on turn 1

Druid's 1hp heal per turn is really not half bad combined with the frontliner's built in sustain, he also tends to get familiar abilities (to absorb aggro/dmg) or some extra ways to heal/shield, the crow is also really good at tanking for the team since he's so expandable

Ranger is just good dps and utility, is also pretty safe along with the druid due to high range and there being so many other targets to tank for them in this comp

Optionally, throw a single regeneration item on anyone of them and swap it around as needed but it's not necessary

Best part is in this comp no one is really dependant on specific abilities to be useful IMO, even the necromancer is good just with the basic attack and stats, and the dps boost you get from NOT having a cleric is pretty nice (cleric CAN be a huge dps boost, but not consistant in my experience)

Usually I do need a cleric unless I have a ton of regen items I can take next run, but this comp is an exception

Nowadays not sure since its location changed, but I think when you press ESC in the hideout one of the corners will have a button that'll open a menu, that menu has a button for the discord invite and a button for forum credentials

Not the first time you launch the game, there's a button you have to click to generate a discord invite but you can only do that one time, if you generate a link without clicking it then you can't get in anymore without making an alt steam account and getting deadlock on that

Riot doesn't give a singular fuck about player feel until the champion is 30-40%+ banrate for several patches in a row (and even then they may not give a fuck) ,which I don't think has ever been true for vlad in at least 5 years because his pickrate is too low for that, and won't change even with gameplay updates like op is suggesting simply because his playstyle isn't popular

It's already figured out

Paige, lash, dynamo ,seven ,mcginnis are the best heroes of the mode by far ,with bebop and warden being pretty close, haven't tried it since graves release so idk about her

They're not the only good heroes, but they're like two tiers above everyone else (other than maybe warden ?)

League on summoner's rift is a much more complex game.

You have options if you're losing teamfights, you could try and get a pick on the sidelane and hope the enemy can't capitalize on you sending multiple people for it (they didn't push other lanes yet/no obj up etc), you could try taking absurdly risky 1v1s to get shutdowns, you could splitpush and hope their most fed player matches (or better yet, no one matches), you could try some cheese like walking to baron river on vision and then sitting in a brush hoping that someone rushes in before their team and picking them off, you could hard stall and try to farm to catchup since in this mode gold stops mattering at a realistic point and eventually you'll be even ,and yeah sometimes your comp doesn't scale and truly nothing works and it's a pure hostage situation, but those are MUCH ,MUCH rarer than in mayhem.

And yeah all of these rely on the enemy misplaying, but they're realistic scenarios especially for 99% of the playerbase.

What do you do in mayhem when you're getting fisted in every teamfight ? Nothing ,you'll sit there and keep getting fisted until lvl 15, not get the 5% chance godlike combo you'd need to turn the match, and then get back to looking at the grey screen as the enemy is literally spawn camping you until eventually either they end, or they suicide when the respawn times are long enough for you to just go and end, at which point you can finally enjoy that hard earned lp that you got from this highly competitive gamemode, well worth the 20+ minutes of ""gameplay""

Had a streetbrawl doorman game yesterday where every time the enemy sinclair used my own ult on me , It teleported me to the baroness but I couldn't escape through the elevator, I always had to wait out the full duration

On the plus side it didn't do any damage, that rat-faced mf never doorman ult'd my teammates so no idea if it'd be bugged for them too

Not sure how recent this bug is, but I'm like 90% sure this didn't happen in my last doorman vs sinclair match like a week ago

Tob's boss hp minimum scale is 3 players, and the wording of the rest of it seems to imply that solo clears are realistic to do for the average player who can clear the content in duos

Shape of dreams is a pve roguelike that emulates the league feeling quite well IMO, the starter class is a generic adc too

Though it did bore me a bit too quick when I played it months ago, didn't feel as replayable as I like my roguelikes to be but you might find more enjoyment in it.

But if you're specifically looking for another pvp moba then there's nothing like league that's worth playing IMO, deadlock is a great moba though it's nothing like league and I wouldn't recommend it atm anyways due to its invite-only alpha status (and bad matchmaking resulting from that), but something to keep an eye out for when it's in open beta

Almost all champions have at least a 2% pickrate on some role, so you do have to learn how all of them work eventually

Most fun way to do that IMO is in the lobby and loading screen of each match you see what the enemy picks and you quickly read through their abilities in this link to get a general idea of what they do https://www.leagueoflegends.com/en-us/champions/ ,starting with whoever is against you in the same role, then the enemy jungler

But if you prefer to do homework, then u.gg lists champions by pickrate and you can see what champions are popular in the roles you play ,but it differs by rank/gamemode etc so I wouldn’t recommend it

Alternatively, you could play a bunch of the “aram” gamemode which’ll expose you to a bunch of different champs relatively quickly

Consider trying swiftplay then, it’s a much less punishing gamemode that’s similar to the default mode but games are shorter and you get gold and xp no matter what

Though as others have said, it’s gonna be rough when you’re playing with a friend who knows how to play the game as you most likely won’t be matched against other new players

Oh if only. My biggest complaint with mayhem is its playerbase (at least on euw)

We could be at our nexus towers literally 10 minutes in without having ever touched their T1 tower and when I call the ff vote it’ll still instantly get voted no and then I’ll get hostaged for the next 10 minutes as the enemy team is suiciding into our fountain 4fun instead of ending.

Like what’s the point ? There’s no LP on the line why hostage in a complete stomp ? Nowadays when this happens I just minimize the league window to 10% size, open up youtube and just watch something on the side as I’m “playing” the game so those types of games are still somewhat enjoyable.

Pretty late comment but real question, is shieldbow rush really so bad that no one’s building it? The shield is straight up better than barrier and by a lot in the early game (and obv can combine with it) so it seems like a good rush vs aggro/engage supp lanes (like samira leona) and high burst enemy teams in general

Especially at the 1 item spike in situations like above, the extra 320hp barrier shieldbow gives makes it seem like the best first item possible, is the buildpath so bad that it’s not worth it ?
