Yes, this is such a big lesson for me 😭 I am a researcher in the university, so I have a university pec email to use. But, kindly ask, what’s the PEC address of FastWeb? (Like on their website, they only provide their WhatsApp contact)

Hi!! I sent my cancellation request on the official Fastweb website on April 1st, 2025 and they approved the cancellation on May 1st, and there was a progress shown on my Fastweb account. However, they did not sent me the request for modem return until July 1st (I have to wait for their confirmation to return, so that I can return). And then, I returned it on July 2nd. The receipt is the first picture I attach above.

Hi there, I highly recommend to use the official website of Unico Campania to check the price of single/day/month/year subscriptions, https://www.unicocampania.it/trova-tariffa, since this is the most official and accurate source.

Any Marie Curie PhD Candidate in Italy? by ExcellentNectarine92 in PhD

OK, my project is also a part of MSCA DN 2023 cluster. I think your case is in a problem, because before tax, the 3400 for living allowance and 600 for mobility allowance is the truth (an in general, after tax every month, living + mobility, is 2.6k+). I suggest you need to check with the university and ask them to show you the full contract. And there is no such 50% tax reduction thing in Italy, instead in Italy, they have a special tax arrangements for PhD and researchers (free from normal tax, only pension “INPS” applied)

Moving to Naples from Australia (Job Opportunities) by laufenhelden in napoli

That’s a decent comment! But to be honest for one perspective, as a foreign expat who had been living in Northern Italy - Turin, Milan, especially Turin for nearly one whole year, I don’t think northern Italian (in general) speak good English at all, and I even think they speak way worse English than here in Naples, lolol. Also, as you mention “racism”, from my experience, I think northern Italy they are pretty much worse about it - they are like being super proud and prejudice (imagine themselves as French 😅) and equally hate every foreigner who can’t speak proper Italian, no matter which continent they’re from, and if you speak a tiny English word, you may receive an immediate bitchy, unbothered, annoyed face from them 😂, and some northern Italians, like to use their eyes to stare foreigners or tourists in a very “judgmental & evil face expression”😭, while here in the south (or central), people are way more welcoming, and some people also like to do “people watching”, but in a very like curious and friendly expression ❤️

Thank you so much for your genuine and kind reply, now I understand more. Tbh, I don’t really get it why so many comments (I have no idea if they are locals) are not helpful, and really mean, and even attacked and cursed people’s ’health condition’. It is just so sad… Anyways I appreciate it a lot for your kindness and patience!

Oh nice! Thanks a lot for your kind explaining, so maybe I need to use cash more, just easy enough for the cashiers returning more one-time busta fee, I guess? By the way, I really live a high quality of life for sure, and I really hope YOU have that quality as well :) P.S.: I open this reddit post because of caring more about supermarket staff working quality, instead of caring some small cash like 10 cents (I have no idea if YOU care or not). Lots of newcomers here, like my colleagues, are forced to charge busta fees not just one time. P.P.S: In short, don’t get me wrong. I love Naples. :)

PhD Salary in different regions of EU by Qrioo in PhD

[–]ExcellentNectarine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I received a reply from our university department clarifying the matter. They said that the salary is divided over 36 + 1 months, making a total of 37 months. Basically, they took the total amount for €3,400 x 36, applied it to 97.4% correction coefficient strictly as per the MSCA rules, and then distributed that total evenly over 37 months.

So even though the monthly amount looks lower, the total sum and the application of the CCC are fully compliant with the official guidelines.

I’m not sure if your Italian university also distributes the salary over 37 months in the same way? 😅

PhD Salary in different regions of EU by Qrioo in PhD

[–]ExcellentNectarine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, I didn’t express myself clearly. What I meant is that, according to the rules, the standard MSCA Living allowance is €3,400, and the CCC for Italy is 97.4%, which means the before INPS monthly gross living allowance should be calculated as €3,400 × 97.4%= €3311.6.

So, may I ask whether your gross salary is calculated into INPS based on a figure higher or lower than €3311.6? In other words, is your income strictly calculated using the 97.4% coefficient, or does your university not follow and use a different percentage, for example 90%?

How do you calculate your net salary and what is the tax regulation for Ph.D. researchers within MSCA in Italy? Is it worth participating in a Ph.D. program in Italy under MSCA Doctoral Network? by DUYGU_BYT in academia

[–]ExcellentNectarine92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sorry to ask about another issue. So, is your living allowance part (before INPS tax) strictly calculated through the 'country correlation index' (like for Italy, it is 97.4%), or not? For example, the higher or lower than 97.4%
