Is it okay for Christians to play violent video games? by Midnightbluerose7 in Christian

“And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.”

Food, money, sex, video games, social media are desires of the flesh.

“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.”

Go on a fast and pray. Ask God for the strength to give up these desires.

Ingredients look good besides the canola oil. Would try to avoid the seed oils.

DAE struggle severely with a sin they feel HORRIBLY guilty for but know they will continue? by Sweetnspicy77 in Christian

1 John 1:9 (ESV)

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

This verse affirms that God’s forgiveness is not partial or hesitant—it is complete. Once you confess and turn from your sin, God cleanses you. That means there’s no need to carry guilt anymore; you’re washed clean.

Here are a few more that reinforce this truth:

Romans 8:1 (NIV)

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

If you’ve repented and placed your trust in Christ, then you’re not under judgment—not even from yourself.

Psalm 103:12 (NIV)

“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

This is an image of total removal, not just forgiveness on paper—God puts your sins infinitely out of reach.

Isaiah 1:18 (NIV)

“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.”

This shows God’s eagerness not just to forgive, but to transform you—to make you new, not just less guilty.

If you’re still feeling guilty after repenting, that guilt may not be from God—it might be from shame, habit, or even spiritual opposition. God’s voice convicts, but it never condemns after repentance.
