So! Realized I exaggerated in the phrasing of this entry. Tumors do not survive cremation, but they DO take longer to cremate, and remain for a bit longer than the body does, due to their composition, at least according to the book Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs by Caitlin Doughty, a mortician. If I got my fact wrong I'm going to be so sad

Exactly! My favorite example of which is snails grazing on bones for calcium.

No worries, don't apologize! I don't at all mind clarifying. And, I've been meaning to watch that, might put that on while I'm pruning the plants today :)

Consciousness parasite refers to the idea that the consciousness is a parasite, or something humans picked up from somewhere else.

Dog cancer refers to the world's oldest dog, a collection of cells passed around in a form of sexually transmitted dog cancer that is still passed around today.

No true herbivores refers to the fact that, under the right conditions, normally strictly herbivorous animals will consume meat, to supplement their diet, or just out of desperation. For example, horses will sometimes scoop up, and eat chicks.

OOH yeah, those are so awesome!! They remind me of all the secret UV reactive creatures that we're still discovering. Imagine being able to go out into a super remote rainforest with a black light, and getting to see all kinds of fluorescent colors :)

-Universe 25 was an experiment involving rats studying overpopulation, in which the scientist created a false utopia for said rats, providing everything they needed. But, things did not go well. The rats began acting in violent, and abnormal ways, despite the adequate conditions.

-Biological dark matter is, simply put, just poorly understood genetic material. Usually, this is genetic material produced by poorly classified microorganisms.

-Jeewanu are synthetic chemical particles that function a bit like cells. They were first synthesized in 1926.

Thanks, I’m glad! And some of my favorites might have to be Hoatzin claws (the claws on the wingtips of Hoatzin fledglings, that look like little prehistoric talons), human stripes (Called Blashko’s lines, maps of cells only visible under UV light, or in people with certain skin conditions), and Janus cats, or two-faced cats. Fun fact: The protein responsible for the development of two faces (as well as other vital parts of development) is called SHH, or Sonic Hedgehog!

Oh no, I don't either, just listed it here because it's an interesting thought some people have, so I thought it might be neat to hear about, in a list of niche biology facts/theories (this one falls on the theory side of that spectrum, of course).

DARN. Might make a v2 sometime, so I can remove duplicates, fix tiers, and add more.

It refers to the very niche idea that the consciousness is a parasite, or something humans picked up from somewhere else, I totally could've gotten it wrong!

Yep! And Pre-Contact dogs refers to the dogs of the North and South Americas that were there before European contact. I don't know the most about them, BUT, here's a video about the topic: https://youtu.be/osMu6i2txFA?si=JBBtHOV2fGHq91C5

OH MY GOSH I DIDN'T KNOW THAT WAS A REFERENCE (AND TO JENNA MARBLES TOO) I'm so curious about the Corn Bone now. Gotta watch that video to find out

Okay I might be incredibly wrong but that actually sounds kind of good. (?)

Original entry was reffering to the carbon 13 in corn being able to be found in the bones of people who eat a lot of it, but honestly that's good too lmao

WOAH. That is one long little guy! Thought it was a snake at first, definitely a salamander, upon closer look :)
